Dr. Andrew Baumel, MD

Very disappointed with the lack of consideration, professionalism and empathy from this pediatrician, during a recent ( past 6 months) stressful office visit ( my daughter is a very complex medical case) I overheard him speaking negatively to his staff (when he left the examination room and didn't close the door behind him) about my daughter and myself as a parent- He didn't know I overheard this. It was extremely upsetting and unprofessional. We only saw him a handful of times. So, after this very upsetting visit we switched to a pediatrician in Marlborough Ma and are very happy.

Dr. Baumel is the kind of doctor we all dream about for our kids (and ourselves) but thought didn't exist. I have never seen a doctor devote even a small fraction of the time and care that Dr. Baumel does to his patients. I could not recommend him more.

Just switched pediatrician for my Son after 13+ years of what felt like “on deaf ears” service from this man. Definitely would not recommend this Man or his practicing facility to anyone.

We have been seeing Dr. Baumel for close to a year. After long battles with other pediatricians regarding suspected PANS/PANDAS , we were finally diagnosed with PANS by Dr. Baumel & the treatment plan began that day. He came highly recommended for PANS/PANDAS & has treated over 100 kids. After 3 months of the treatment, we started to see hints of our old daughter back. 6 months in, even more & now at the 9 month mark our life has significantly improved. We still have a long way to go, however, we do see the light. & our overall household has improved as a result of him & his practice. His entire staff from the office, to his scribes have all been very accommodating. We never feel rushed. yes we have waited at times to see him. But you do that at any doctors office. He is worth the wait & never has made us feel rushed. If you had an emergency you needed addressed, you would want him to take his time with your child, so we understand why sometimes he is a bit behind &… appreciate the time he takes to make our little ones better.

Pedi was Impatient, not very knowledgeable, we always felt rushed at each visit and were for lack of a better explanation "left hanging several times in examining room with unanswered questions/ explanations", the doctor would just leave ( walk out of the room suddenly and not come back) the nurses would then come in 15-20 minutes later asking why we were still there? ( happened about 5 times) Well, we were still there because we were waiting like idiots apparently for Dr. Baumel to return with answers to our questions/ actual reasoning for bringing our children in to see him?? Then to be informed by his staff he was already with another patient and our visit time was over?? Very strange practice and extremely rude bedside manner. Switched over to MetroWest Pediatrics group last month and MUCH BETTER experience- a huge eye-opener for us young parents, so happy we left while our children are still young enough to receive the right care they deserve and need and get actual answers and… not be ignored or treated as though we are bothering the treating pediatrician.

Dr. Baumel puts more thought, care and time into all of his patients. He researched the latest practices and stays current in his treatment. You can not ask for a more thorough doctor.

thoughtful, sincere cares about the child and the family. Excellent care based on good data. He knows the child and our entire family so well we feel completely cared for and confident.

Dr. Baumel has proven his abilities as a very kind, caring, and well-trained pediatrician from the day I went in at 8 months pregnant, to all the way here in 2012. He always makes us feel as if he is giving his undivided attention, and he really listens to my child as well as my husband and me. We have never waited more than 5 minutes, and the staff has always been extremely helpful, friendly, and efficient. Many of the staff members also have been there since day one, and I think that shows what a nice atmosphere Dr. Baumel and the other providers have established. We recommend Dr. Baumel to all of our friends and family. We have since moved about 45 minutes away from the practice, but still see Dr. Baumel because he is totally worth the trip.

Since moving to Framingham nearly 8 years ago. We have been more than pleased with both Framingham Pediatrics and Dr. Andrew Baumel. They have exceeded out expectations and always met our needs!
