Dr. Andrew Charles Bland, MD

Both myself as the patient as well as my husband on separate occasions had very bad experiences with Dr Bland. I was in and out of medical delerium and he told me that if I kept what I was doing by not taking my meds I would be dead in a week or less. I was taking my meds, very slowly because of what I was going through but questioned what they were for and took them. Who tells someone they have less than a week to live and then leaves them in their hospital room alone. I did not understand. Then went on to tell my husband that he would never recommend me for a kidney transplant because he knew I would not appreciate it. That donated organs are a gift as are the meds and since I was not appreciating the meds how could I ever appreciate a new kidney. My family was regularly asking for a referral to another clinic(#1 in US). Dr Bland let us know that they were able to do everything this other clinic was able to do. I left this hospital after 2 1/2 weeks of no help and within a week at… this other hospital I was out of ICU and within another week being released with just below normal kidney function which is now, 1 month later within normal kidney function. Not sure how some others gave this man a good rating. I would NEVER recommend him for anything!

No people skills and seems arrogant

I saw Dr. Bland take care of my Mother for many years. Even when mom's primary care or heart doctor ordered tests or meds, Dr. Bland was the one that followed up with her, not the doctor that ordered the test. Mom Trusted Dr. Bland, & I could see why. He was able to keep her off dialysis for many years, even though she had chronic kidney failure. By watching her closely, keeping her on the right meds & the right amounts, Mom was still dancing at 85. Thank you Dr. Bland. I have more respect for you than any other doctor I know. Thank you for caring & for being such a knowledgeable, remarkable doctor.

This guy didn't inspire confidence. I felt very uneasy about his care. Hardly saw him, and when I did it was after I had been in the hospital overnight and was already feeling better.
