Dr. Andrew Jay Blank, DO

I am concerned that this doctor may be practicing poor health care and manipulation of the elderly in and out of the nursing home environment. He inherited his father's practice many years ago and has used his dad's great reputation to stay in business. My 86 year old mother has recounted a story about a friend, Ms. Anne, who was a patient of this doctor multiple times. This story always sounds so very suspicious and in these days of... see something say something... I thought I should share. My mother takes her own blood pressure every day. One day mom was going shopping and Ms. Anne asked her to buy her a blood pressure machine for herself, she thought it would be a good idea to monitor her BP daily also. So mom purchased the machine. Ms. Anne told her, Dr. Blank about the machine and asked him a question about one her medicines and its side effects. Dr. Blank response was that Ms. Anne should stop reading the paperwork that the pharmacy attaches to her prescriptions and… to take back the blood pressure machine she shouldn't use it at all. Ms. Anne gave the machine back to my mother to be returned to the pharmacy. On another occasion, Ms. Anne was feeling poorly and agreed to go see my mother's vascular doctor. After examining Anne the doctor asked my mother why she waited so long to bring her friend to him. Anne had a 90% vascular blockage. Mom replied, "she sees her own doctor in Burlington" and just recently agreed to come to see a different doctor. When

I have been going to Dr. Blank since his father Bernard Blank was a doctor 40 years ago.Andrew is a wonderful person friend and doctor. His father was excellent and so is he in all areas.

This doctor has a great bedside manner. Does his best to conclude what your issue is. Sends patients to specialists that he would recommend to his family members.

Dr. Blank has been my family doctor for 20+ years. He takes a genuine interest in me, my family, and our health. I feel like Im going to see an old friend when I see him. He's always in a great mood, and makes me feel happy I went to see him, no matter what the reason.

Treats paitents like customers - the more he sees the more he can bill. Mostly sees paitents in nursing homes and never returns calls from the family of those paitents. Office is very poor on getting referals to the specialist on time and every fourth or fifth call to the office ends in a busy signal.
