Dr. Andrew Martin Cooperman, MD

Dr. Cooperman performed a total hip replacement on my hip during 2018. I found his technical skills to be simply excellent. Before surgery and after surgery I was given detailed instructions to promote a good outcome. Between his skills and my implementation of instructions, I had a very good outcome. I am virtually pain-free and my mobility has been restored. I found his bedside manner before and after surgery to be excellent. In my opinion, Dr. Cooperman is an excellent surgeon and a nice person. Very compassionate. It helped during a high-stress period. The patient care I received from his staff, such as medical assistants, radiology technicians, and physical therapy staff was also very good. The only negative is that dealing with the office-type functions require persistence. Telephone answered, but time on hold is significant. Scheduling and billing offices staffed with nice people, but wait times on hold and time to follow-up can be long. A patient, focused approach helped,… but it is a concern. Given my care and results, the benefits outweighed the cost.

Lol I’ve read some of the neg comments and although his bedside manner is rough,my TKR (Jan 2018)went fabulous. I too had second thoughts about his manner but he doesn’t f$&@ around. As long as you don’t let his intimidating manner get to you, he’s honest and painfully forthright. If you do the work, he’s generous w the acknowledgements. He does his job and expects the same from you. Went backpacking in Europe 6 moths post op. Although he wasn’t thrilled w me doing my own PT afterwards, he acknowledged my success. Thanks Again

If you like arrogant dr's with poor bedside manner then this is your guy. He offers no hope and will not educate you on best method for a way ahead. Definitely get a second opinion. Not sure if this guy ever had good bedside manner but he definitely did not on our visit. Very condescending and told us to prove him wrong. Very full of himself.

Trust me he has the worst bedside manner. wouldn't let him touch anyone I care for. get a second opinion for sure.

Had my hip replaced. Within 60 days I was at 100% physical shape. Had my knee replaced. It's now been 6 months and my knee is still stiff with no feeling in it at all. Kneeling is weird when you can't feel it. However, there is no more pain. I traded pain for no feeling. A fair exchange.

Dr Cooperman is my hero !!! When I first saw him he was a little gruff and adamant about not doing surgery unless I reduced my BMI. Well, I walked and walked and totally changed my eating habits. I lost over 40 lbs. ,was able to shop in regular stores and got my self esteem back. Just had total hip replacement and in 6 weeks will have other one replaced. He is truly my hero ! The surgery was flawless and when the other one is done I will have my life back . Thank you !
