Dr. Dettore is the best!!!! Yes, sometimes you wait a little to see the docs here, but it's because they ALL take all the time necessary with your child. They don't just "put a band aid" on the situation and run for the next billable patient. He is so incredibly wonderful with my son.

Amazing Doctor!

Great doctor when you can actually see him.. I met him when I gave birth to my second daughter. He was awesome at the hospital.. She had a birth defect that caused a deformation of her ear, as result she is deaf on one side.. He seemed very compassionate & kind. I decided to keep him as her primary care doc & switched my oldest daughter to his office as well. It's the receptionists at this office don't seem to have any compassion for the kids that need to be seen.. Or maybe it's just my kid? Idk.. I don't have a vehicle so I have to work around the schedules of others to get a ride to see doctors. In spite of knowing this, in spite of NEVER having an opening unless you schedule weeks in advance & Sometimes even MONTHS! God forbid my ride is late & I walk in that door 15 minutes later than her appointment.. Turned away.. Just like that.. Told if she really needs to be seen you can take her to an urgent care or reschedule for a month from now.. Really??! What happened to having a… grace period?! Why in a completely dead waiting room can you not get my kid seen over 15 minutes? Because rules? Is it because seeing medicaid patients is the equivalent of doing charitable work so if they don't do every thing just so you'll put them in their place by turning them away & making them feel like garbage? Sure seems like it to me.. This is not the first time I've had issues at this office.. To be perfectly honest I feel very much like they intentionally make things difficult for people like me to keep the trashy charity cases feeling shunned so they will hopefully get the message & go some where else because just coming out & saying you're not the type we want to deal with would be a big fat prejudice law suit.. I don't recommend this doctor to any one of similar circumstance.. Save your selves the head ache & find a place that isn't full of people looking down their nose at you thinking they know any thing about who you are based on what insurance covers your children.. Also cover completely any tattoos you might have & dress the part of a proper wholesome soccer mom.. Livid with these idiots right now.. It seems there's some issue every time I try to get my oldest seen. It's always a waiting game & I usually end up having to use an urgent care.. I will be switching doctors. What's the use of an awesome doctor if the receptionist treat you like crap & make it impossible to see him? Thank's for the help ladies! Not.. Wish the world of health care was actually full of people that care..

We absolutely love Dr. Dettore, as well as all the doctors and nurses at Downriver Pediactrics. Their care and attention is beyond excellent. The office staff, unfortunately, is at the other extreme end of the spectrum. Appointments are triple or quadruple booked and still on a first come, first serve basis (as long as you're within the grace of your appt time). I understand that good doctors are hard to find, but there needs to be some consideration to patients, especially small, sick children who are already impatient

Dr. Dettore is wonderful the issue is that the office overlooks the appointment times. (As in 6 people will have a 9 am appointment and only 2 doctors will be there!) Dr. Dettore will spend as much time with you as you need and that is wonderful but does also contribute to the waiting time as well. I still take my 2 sons there because I like him and Dr. Melissa Wylie. They are great do toes but waiting with a sick toddle for over an hour just to get back in the room and wait more sometimes is just horrible. I choose to do this because he knows my child and has done a wonderful job with them and there really aren't that many great doctors like this in our area!! The office staff could be friendlier depending on who you have to deal with.

Dr. Dettore is absolutley fantastic!!! I have been taking my daughter to him and never been so happy with a pediatrician. He takes the time to explain things and is great with the children. Unfortunately,the front desk staff is rude and incompetent. I will continue to take my daughter there to see him, it is just a real pain to deal with the girls.
