Dr. Andrew Stephen Goldberg, MD

Excels at his craft. I have lung disease/asthma due to toxic chemical exposure during military service. I was diagnosed by another internist with more than 30 years experience. My situation called for a higher level of care that only a truly experienced specialist can provide. I spent 5 months in 2013 not sure if I would survive then went to another internist in Norman. He referred me to Dr. Goldberg in 2015. He is a no nonsense guy. Best decision I ever made was going to him. He scolded me a couple of times when I failed to stay away from my triggers and got in trouble. He has cut my needs for steriods about in half over the last 7 years. People in central Oklahoma and Norman are lucky to have this high level of talent. Norman Regional is lucky to have him in their system. Do not go to him if you are already smarter than your current doctors. His staff has been excellent this last 6 years. I do not live in Norman, but travel there only for his care.

I was very disappointed in Dr. Goldberg. He was accusatory abrasive, incapable of using medical terms and could not read a CT scan of the lungs no less. He was way off the mark on the diagnosis. He could not explain plans every well. His LPN Carla was almost as rude as him. He is a boy that never grew up with all his action figures. I will move on to another pulmonologist. I don’t need to spend an hour to be abused.

He would talk about himself 97% of the time during my office visits.. How he felt about a Fitbit or number of steps walked vs exercise. I could have my portable oxygen or the continuous oxygen according to my insurance. We have family in Montana and travel to visit them so I chose the portable oxygen. He discontinued my care because I made that decision. This doctor will not work with you and it's his way or the highway. I do not recommend him to anyone. Also one of the women who answer the phone is very rude and will not let you ask a question if she thinks you need to talk to another person in the office. She will actually transfer you in the middle of your sentence.

Dr. Goldberg is a very thorough doctor. I became his patient about a year and a half ago. Since becoming his patient I have learned so much from him on how to better handle my asthma. He wants the best for his patients and is open to trying various therapies that work well with each patient. I work in the medical field and know good when I see it.

Dr Goldberg has been my asthma Dr for 25 some odd years and I have had zero complaints in that time. Always makes sure I get the treatment or medicine I need.
