Dr. Andrew H. Goldstein, MD

Dr. Goldstein is by far the best doctor I've ever had. He is so caring and kind.

Most recently I was diagnosed with lung cancer after several proceedures in a 2 week period of time. A CT Scan, Chest X-Ray, PET Scan, Breathing Test, Colonoscopy, a Lung Biopsy. Indeed as you could imagine I was devistated and my fiancee as well. When you have been told you have lung cancer you start reading albout the suvival rates and they will scare you believe me. So Judy my financee started to research doctors when we were told we needed to see a surgeon who performs Lung Surgery. Our Pulmonary Medicine Doctor recomended a Lung and Heart Surgeon. Upon searching other Doctors in the Phoenix area Judy came across Dr. Goldstein. She was convinced after reading several articles about him as his background that he would be the best choice. Dr. Goldstein took time to see us immediately and note it was the day his daughter had her graduation when many others would have delayed seeing me. Upon meeting Dr. Goldstein I was deeply affected by his outstanding manners and his… superior qualifications. He took time to explain step by step what he recommended and scheduled my surgery for the following Friday. I arrived at Banner Thunderbird Hospital and eveythng I was told went accordingly. When I awoke from surgery I was feeling some discomfort but by no means in severe pain. Over the next 31 hours I was in the ICU unit. When the Doctor saw me the very next day after surgery he said I could go home. Really in just 31 hours from having major surgery and having my middle lung lobe removed? I was surprised since I was anticipating being in the hospital for a minimum of 3 days and on average 6 days for this procedure. Let me explain Dr, Goldstein is thge foremost expert on using Robotics when performing this delicate surgery. He is one of only 2 Doctors in the State of Arizona to use this techinque. I have been out of the hospital 2 weeks and have no pain and very little discomfort. A true miracle. We received the pathology report and he had removed all the cancer and the lymph notes showed no cancer meaning the cancer had not spread. So no need for Chemo or Radiation. My father needed a triple heart bypass surgery and after meeting Dr. Goldstein I was finally able to get some good sleep that night. His reassuring smile and knowledge of the procedure made me confident he was the surgeon for the job. I recommend watching the videos he has online. The entire Diana family appreciates and will refer Dr Goldstein to others in the future.

The surgery I needed could have been done with minimal invasiveness. We requested the doctor consider performing the surgery in this manner. He reviewed the X-rays and called to say he would not do it, believing it was not safe and would not provide the view he needed. How thankful I am he stood his ground. He found cancerous spots that would not have been visible if he had acquiesced to my request. When my husband or I called the office with a question, Dr. Goldstein returned the call, not an associate or office member. My vanity showed in my concern for scarring on my chest. Dr. Goldstein was aware of my concern and used a plumb line to make certain the incision was straight and minimal. My recovery has been rapid with little discomfort and the scar is already fading.
