Dr. Richard Thompson, MD

Top notch service.

Dr. Thompson was recommended to me by my oncologist from previous breast cancer. My oncologist had me get a scan on my chest due to me smoking and a spot was found. Upon my first visit he was so kind and empathetic to my situation. He highly recommended that I have the surgery on my lung and I took the plunge. I'm glad I did, turned out it was cancer and caught very early. On my follow-up visit post surgery he gave me a hug and I thanked him for saving my life. It was so wonderful that he reached out to me for a hug, that is compassion to it's fullest. He truly loves what he does and helping people survive their circumstances. When I was in the hospital he came in everyday to check on me. I would ask him about himself because I like to know the person that is helping me. He probably wanted to talk more about me and how I was. It was not an easy surgery and painful for sure but he and his staff took every step to make it better for me, which is so appreciated. I don't … think doctors get enough appreciation for the hard work and hours they put in to saving and or helping us with or without our good or bad choices. I would highly recommend anyone to Dr. Thompson not only for his expertise but because I can tell he cares about what he does, he has passion. Love it!

The care he gave me was simply basic. My incision is a over a foot long. I heard after my surgery that some surgeons can do the same operation thru an incision that is 3 inches long. I'm assuming that would be less painful. His bedside manner was ok, he talked about himself most of the time and seemed fake.

First Doctor I've had that hugged me - that gave me the hope I needed.I am now in remission. Stage 1 lung cancer diagnosed and treated in 14 days!

I used to see Dr. Thompson before I moved away and I have always considered him all around BEST doctor I have ever had . Now some of his recptionists however could be a little more friendly .

Dr. Thompson was wonderful, he replaced my husband's aortic valve last year. Not only is he a highly skilled surgeon, he has a superb bedside manner and is very patient and thorough. If either my husband or I ever needed surgery in the future, we would definitely choose Dr. Thompson. We are thankful for his excellent care.

Dr. Thompson is by far the most caring, concerned doctor I have ever had. He's called me at my home to give me test results after office hours. He has referred me to another doctor when he felt it was necessary. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
