Dr. Andrew S Kirschner, DO

Hello - please read this review carefully as you are probably weighing your options to figure out if Dr. Kirschner is right for you. From my experience, especially being treated for opiate/opioid related issues, there is a stigma in the world that many times make you feel as a person "less than" and that you just are not being listened to or cared about or respected. I could go on and on... That type of treatment ends with Doctor Kirschner and his staff. From the very first day you are given the introductions, the rules, and Peter (the office manager) breaks the entire process down for you simply and accurately. There are no surprises except for the fact that FINALLY you have found a doctor that cares, a staff that cares - and the process of gaining back your freedom can FINALLY begin and the stigma feeling FINALLY subsides. Doctor Kirschner is one of a kind - the man knows what he is talking about. He is personable, kind, knowledgeable, and will even apologize if appointment times… fall a little behind because he RESPECTS you. What a great doctor to patient relationship. Peter is the office manager. Now, Peter is the brawn where Doctor K is the brains. I have seen the doctor for a couple of years now and anytime (we are talking day or night here) that I needed to speak to someone in the office due to a pre-authorization, pharmacy issue, questions for doc, etc. Peter has called me back within one or two minutes EVERY SINGLE TIME and quickly resolved any issue that came up, had all questions answered, and was more accommodating than any business dealing that I have ever been a part of. Peter runs the office part of the practice so efficiently that any hiccups that may arise are already handled and resolved before you even knew there was an issue in the first place. You can tell the staff has been together for a long time because of how well the practice is run. The City of Philadelphia is very lucky to have a physician like Doctor Kirschner practicing in its borders and the patients are very lucky for having an office manager like Peter taking care of every step of your experience, so that the only thing that you have to worry about is...YOU. All of the other staff members are just as efficient. Thank you for the respect, thank you for the treatment.

I went to Dr. Kirschner for my addiction to opiates. At first I thought I was just going to see another doctor for a prescription but I was wrong. My first appointment Peter greeted me and went over how the program works and my basic medical history. He was absolutely fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. I then sat with Dr. Kirschner for about a half hour and we both came up with a treatment plan that worked best for me. I never expected him to actually take my outside affairs into consideration and also my time line for how long I wanted to be on the drug. After 6 months I am proud to say I am completely off everything and living a sober life thanks to Peter and Dr. Kirschner. Peter was the best! I called him many times due to insurance issues and he always took care of it no matter what, It was a great feeling to know that once I talked to him I knew it was going to get done and not worry! I want to thank Dr. Kirschner and his staff for being so understanding, non judgmental, and… overall very caring. They truly go above and beyond for there patients.

I have been seeing Dr.K now for 4 years and he and his staff are just the best. You can always get ahold of someone if you need anything. I had a problem with my insurance and getting my medication out and that same day Peter had it handled. I couldn’t say in words how this office has changed my life for the good and I thank Dr.K and his staff!

I have been going to Dr. Kirschner for 20 years. I travel hours to see him now.
