I am writing in reference with communication with the Bartow Facility as well as other Bronx Locations. It is unbelievable that no one answers the phone for a period beyond 3 hours. This is a direct reflection as to the quality of work ethics displayed by the Montefiore Centers. My father is 88 years old and I have an urgent question regarding medications prescribed and yet no one but no one responds.

I visited Dr Lan for the first time today. I told him about multiple issues that I have been having. Dr Lan proceeded to recommend multiple drugs and other doctors. I am used to doctors who take time to listen to and further understand their patients, maybe asking my pain rate, how long I’ve been in pain, anything to help or find out a cause of pain or trigger.. In the 6 minutes I saw Dr Lan, all I felt was the pressure to shut up so he could go about his day.

I used to go to one of the other doctors in this practice but the wait time for an appointment became far too long. So I scheduled with Dr. Lan instead and was pleasantly surprised! He has a nice bedside manner and took the time to listen to me. Plus, he was right on target with his diagnosis. I think I found myself a new doctor!

We have used this practice for years. Both times I have seen Dr. Lan, I have come in with clearly defined symptoms, and ended up having to seek further medical care elsewhere for things that should have been caught initially. He's a nice, caring man, but he's not a great doctor.
