Dr. Andrew James Malinchak, DO

I've had some of the worst medical experiences with Doctor Malinchak. His knowledge and understanding of medicine is very minimal. Any complicated or advanced questions you may have, fluster him and he'll give a simple "I don't know" response without trying to do any further research. He rushes through the appointment and does not listen to his patients concerns, especially if he has a preconceived notion of your issues. He even tried to force me to take a pregnancy test when I came in for bloating and constipation. When I refused he no longer wanted to hear my concerns and quickly ended our appt. I hadn't had sex with a man in over 7 months, so I knew it was a deeper issue than pregnancy. I had to basically beg him to do lab work which of course came back abnormal. He is a complete joke! He is not interested in devoting and real time or effort into your holistic wellbeing.

He listens to my concerns. Is very empathetic and caring and explains diagnosis to me. Answers all my questions. Would recommend him. He even does manipulation!!

A detective doctor. Wouldn't give up till he found the cause. Treated more by symptoms that blood work, but did those lab test also. Has helped our CFS very much.

Great Doctor as well as his staff.

I waited almost an hour after my scheduled appointment and received no apology for the wait. And to make it worse Dr. Malinchak was condescending to the point of rudeness. I will never go back and would highly recommend anyone seek another doctor. There are plenty others!

I am split on how to rate Dr. Malinchak. I saw him for 10 yrs, & recently left him b/c his bedside manner got worse over time. I didn't want to leave b/c I love his staff so much, especially long-time workers Maria & Donna. Initially, Dr. Malinchak rocked. He taught me so much about the thyroid & it is very hard to find a good dr in that. So if you are looking for an excellent thyroid dr that is local, treats by symptoms, and isn't a lab numbers nut - he's definitely the one. More recently in other areas: besides being downright rude, he would mess up prescription dosages, and I feel he misdiagnosed me a couple of times - nothing major though - like on cause of foot pain, etc. However, he did refer me to a specialist later. He is great at conferring w/your other doctors to get the full picture. That is also hard to find.Wait time is usually ok. Last time, though, was the last straw b/c he didn't show up for my appt. entirely. Staff was so embarrassed, but I've stood him up before so I… suppose turnabout is fair play. I've since tried another doctor, & kind of regret leaving him. He just made me SOOO MAD one too many times. Overall, I have to recommend him, but suggest keeping him on a tight leash only b/c he's a bit flaky. Also, note that he is moody (like everybody is at times), so don't judge him by only 1 visit.

After a long wait in the office, I saw Malinchak for a sinus infection. I explained that I am allergic to a particular antibiotic. It was written in my chart twice, and on the orange allergy card. He actually wrote me a prescription for that drug under a different brand name. I spent quite a while in the hospital, getting shots of epi, antihistamines, corticosertoids, and breathing treatments. When I called his office after this incident to cancel a future appointment, he refused to talk to me or apologize - in fact he blamed ME for the error - saying that I should recognized it, even though it was a different brand name!
