Dr. Andrew Alieel Mohammed, MD

He was hired by a brilliant, kind, but over-worked, ophthalmologist in Eureka, Ca. Shortly after Mohammed entered the treatment room, I asked a question about my condition, and he went into a verbal tirade, accompanied by threatening body language...tensed arms and fists, and a cruel expression on his face. I was quite frightened, and thought he must be having a mental breakdown. I refused to use him again. This is a small town, and several accounts of patients feeling bullied, threatened, and emotionally abused have been circulating. The grandson of one of those patients, a woman in her 80s, has a review on Yelp about Mohammed's abusive behavior. His employer, Dr. Mizoguchi, is always gracious, polite, and concerned about the well-being of his patients; I have been told that as a result of this, Mohammed will soon be gone.

Dr. Mohammed treated me for approximately 4 years for glaucoma. I was also treated for a epiretinal membrane with an ophthalmologist in Santa Rosa. I had surgery to remove the membrane Nov 30, 2021. I noticed some sort of blockage to my peripheral vision Dec 22, 2021. I told Dr Mohammed twice that I couldn't see in part of my eye and he told me it would get better, worse, or stay the same. He does pressures. My ophthalmologist in Santa Rosa helped me get an appointment with a glaucoma specialist in Santa Rosa. She told me I have normal pressure glaucoma, the vision impairment I have now is permanent and the goal is to stop the impairment from growing and becoming blind. Dr. Mohammed did NOTHING. He didn't even have the medical curiosity to see what was happening to my eye. It was 4 months between the time I saw Dr Mohammed and the ophthalmologist in Santa Rosa. I won't know if the loss of visual field would have been smaller if Dr Mohammed would have done something but my loss of… visual field would have continued had I not sought another opinion. If you have glaucoma and see Dr Mohammed be sure to discuss normal pressure glaucoma with him. There is only 1 other glaucoma doctor in Humboldt county and he doesn't take new patients. I see Dr. Avni Shah and she is doing everything she can to save my eyesight. Be careful of Dr Mohammed.

I was misdiagnosed by another ophthalmologist recently. I couldn't take the pain and discomfort but didn't know what to do. I called Dr. Mohammad's office and got an immediate appointment. I have worked with doctors myself and am not easily impressed. But boy what a team! it only got better with each step, from the phone call, to my entering the office and finally seeing the technician and doctor. He takes his oath of Hippocrates very seriously. I shared this information with everyone in my office at the base and Facebook..Of course!:)

My experience with Dr. Andrew Mohammed, at the White-Wilson Medical Center, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was positive in every way. - His staff was pleasant and courteous, and made me feel welcome. - His assistant was very professional, pleasant, and exuded confidence. - Dr. Mohammed was exceptionally personable, addressed each concern, and answered all my questions.
