Andrew Mitchell Silverman, MD

Dr. Silverman is a pediatric physician specializing in hematology (blood disorders) and oncology (cancers). Following medical school education at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Silverman completed both his general pediatrics and pediatric hematology and oncology at New York Presbyterian Columbia Campus, prior to taking on his current role at K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. His research during training including focus on sarcomas (cancerous tumors of the bone and skeletal muscles) and immunotherapy (utilizing the immune system to attack cancerous tumors), and he is well-published in both fields.

In Dr. Silverman's current role, he is primarily focused on direct patient care and clinical trials through his partnerships with the Children's Oncology Group, American Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, and Blood Cancer United. He is similarly involved in medical student and resident education, …and is a leader/participant in multiple multi-disciplinary clinics at K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital.
