Dr. Andrew Jungwon Tak, MD

He passes out prescription pain medication like candy. He wants patients to become addicted and when they do he still doesn’t throughly examine them! Can’t believe he has a license in the state of California!! He’s part of the opioid addiction in this country!!

Dr. Tak has poor bedside manners and is very dismissive of patient concerns. He doesn’t do a thorough review of patient medical history. His solution to health concerns when a patient is overweight is that losing weight will solve the issue not considering that the weight could be the symptom of the issues. He claims to take an objective approach to medicine, but he bases his objectivity on tests without doing baseline tests first to ensure what is “normal” for a patient is actually normal. I highly do not recommend.

In May 2021, I accompanied my 90-year-old grandmother to Dr. Tak’s office. She had recently had two frightening visits to the emergency room for an alarming ailment (a potential blood clot), and this was the follow-up visit with her primary care physician. Because of Dr. Tak’s shockingly rude and inappropriate behavior at this appointment, we have decided that she will never go back to Dr. Tak again. Upon entering the exam room, Dr. Tak immediately spoke to my grandmother with a raised voice, and an annoyed tone. As she tried to explain her ailment, Dr. Tak repeatedly interrupted her with the same loud, dismissive voice, discounting and contradicting her concerns. When he suggested an alternative explanation of her ailment from the one that the emergency room doctor had given us, I asked for clarification, and he turned to me (acknowledging my existence in the room for the very first time) and actually yelled at me with an agitated, snide tone, “I don’t even know you.” I reminded… him that I was her granddaughter and had met him several times, to which he rudely replied, “Well not in this office.” That statement was not true or even relevant. More importantly, however, he never answered my question about his medical advice, even after I asked him several times to please explain it to us. Instead, he remained silent and simply turned to his computer and started typing. I was incredulous and appalled at this office visit. I have never imagined a doctor treating his patients this way, especially a frightened, 90-year-old woman, who had been his patient for several years. Dr. Tak is rude, arrogant, and unprofessional, and we will be finding another primary care physician.

I don’t know if I have ever met another doctor who talked with me as much as he did. It wasn’t just about medical topics. It was about life. He is tech friendly, efficient and current. I also liked it that he didn’t appear to be alarmed just because one number wasn’t perfect. He listened to my history.

Love Dr. Tak. I gave him a 4 star in accurate diagnosis only because some test results (MRI, X-ray, Colonoscopy results) were not sent to him by physician conducting the tests. I've never had a follow-up call from him or his office, except when he did receive the results from the Cologuard stool test. As far as how long he spends with me, I think he knows me so well, that when I'm done talking to him, he figures our appointment is over. Love, love, love his office staff - Raven, Grace & Maria. All three are able to handle whatever I call about & they're very nice & professional. I would recommend Dr. Tak to anyone asking for a referral.

Very professional and intelligent Doctor. I have been going to him for a good 6 years. Very nice and friendly staff. Very clean office. Never had to wait more than 10 mins to be seen because of efficient scheduling. Flexable if late. I would recommend Dr Tak with my highest reguards!!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Taks for over 10 years. He has seen me through some difficult times and has always been very compassionate, supportive and helpful. I love his honest, down to earth personality. His staff is top notch, very professional and efficient. If I need a referral, an appointment or medication refill, they take care of it promptly. Thank you Dr. Tak and staff!

Very good doctor and staff

This doctor is extremely rude . His wife supposely runs the office and does the billing but is never there . Always askes for payment up front when my insurance always pays . Any way they can charge you for something they will . Never seems interested in my problems probaly just wants the money for my office visit . I had my korean friend move in from sf and i asked the staff if they were taking new patients i was told multipe times yes they were but he was told they werent accepting patients at the time . Racist towards their own kind . If you are looking for a concerning doctor this man is not the one !

Asked for payment upfront, even though I have insurance, and then said the difference bwteen my payment and the amount refunded by insurance would stay on file to pay for my next appointment. DOUBLE DIPPING!
