Andrew Tam, M.D., M.S., is an assistant professor of radiation oncology at City of Hope® Arcadia, where he works closely with patients and their cancer care teams to provide accurate, timely diagnoses for a wide range of cancer types using leading-edge imaging procedures.Dr. Tam, a long-time advocate for greater health care equity, is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to patients regardless of their background or circumstances. His philosophy is founded on empathy, empowerment and equity. He is also passionate about understanding the emotional, psychological and social dimensions that shape patient experiences and has conducted research in this field.After earning his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, Dr. Tam completed his internship in internal medicine at California Pacific Medical Center in the same city, followed by a residency in radiation oncology at City of Hope. He has extensive experience collaborating with international …partners in the field of global health, including participating in medical projects and initiatives in Thailand, Ecuador, Honduras and Ethiopia.
