Dr. Andrew Quyanh Tran, MD

Dr. Tran was my mom's psychiatrist for 3+ years. Some of his behaviors came across as unprofessional. 1. During the pandemic, he talked to mom on zoom for 15 min and charged for 45 min on the bill. It happened almost every time. His talks were very brief and it seemed he was not interested in finding out about mom's true status. 2. He kept suggesting to increase the dosage of mom's medication. I looked up on-line and the dosage was almost at the max. Mom is a senior with a small stature. At least Dr. Tran should suggest a blood test before increasing the dosage. 3. He suggested adding a new medication for mom. We are layman so I just looked it up on-line. To my horror, it is a meds for ADHD and mom has depression. She was already lacking energy. Adding the ADHD meds may have serious side effects, according to the websites. I wonder if Dr. Tran knows what he is doing? 4. He heard I work for a big high tech company. He told me he had many patients from my company, plus a few patients… from other well-known high tech companies, like A, A, F. Then he asked me to install an app used for his private practice only so we could connect, telling me not to tell anyone as if it were a privilege. Does he see me as a prospective patient? he was soliciting business? Mom got anxious every time Dr. Tran suggested to increase the dosage. Now she transferred to another doctor and we are glad we don't need to see Dr. Tran any more.

Dr. Andrew Tran is superb. He takes time to listen and talk to me and I am very satisfied with him as my psychiatrist. I am deeply impressed by his sensitivity and compassion. I find him very competent and professional. I am forever grateful to him for his help and would recommend him to anyone.

I am usually pretty lazy about writing reviews but Dr. Tran has made such a tremendously positive impact on my life that I feel I have to say something here, especially after I surprisingly found so many bad reviews on him here. Most psychiatrists that I've had prior only cared to write me a prescription and spent very little time with me. Dr. Tran took the time to know and understand the stress that was affecting my life and give me valuable insight beyond medications. He listened to my concerns carefully, wanted to know how well I was doing with my relationships and work, and got to know me well prior to making decisions which he put a lot of thought into. He kept me well informed, and would provide me the most up to date information regarding my mental health condition and appropriate treatment. He treated me with respect, often staying later than his normal hours, or scheduling me during his lunch hour when I had any concerns or worries. I feel he sincerely cared about my… well being well beyond what I expected.

Please stay away from this doctor. He is a terrible, uncaring psych. I've had about 5 psychs throughout the last 11 years and I've never been treated with more apathy and insincerity.

This is a man that shouldn’t be a doctor, let alone a psychiatrist. Terrible, terrible doctor. Do not see him!!

My experiences with this firm have been very unpleasant. Andrew Tran is an extremely offensive and insensitive psychiatrists who I would not recommend to anyone struggling with mental health. My boyfriend, who at the time, had little knowledge about mental health came into my visit with Dr. Tran. The three of us peacefully discussed the struggle of living with ADHD and depression. I cried as it is something I am very ashamed of and got very upset when explaining the struggles I have accomplishing my to-do list on a daily basis. During this time, Dr. Tran just kinda looked at me, with very little empathy and explained how incapable my brain is of successfully accomplishing tasks. When I brought up my need to refill my adderall, Dr. Tran described adderall to my boyfriend as "legal cocaine" and then persisted to tell him that I could sell my prescription on the "street" for $2,000. After hearing him say that, I got my prescription and left the office crying and feeling absolutely… humiliated. Why would I ever suggest someone who is dealing with these issues to visit this doctor? There are SO many other options! If you're struggling with mental health, do not visit this firm.

I myself work in the field of mental health too. So I guess I understand why some “patients” don’t like Dr. Tran. He is not a doctor who will give you whatever you want even it may be something bad for you. He truly care about his patients and give his patient what they need, what can really help them. This means good medication management and compassionate care. He helped me so much when I was at my worst and I am doing so well now with his help. I feel so grateful that I have him helping me with my mental health. I wish all the psychiatrists can practice like him.

Idk what’s up with the bad reviews here but he’s the first doctor to actually care and makes sure he’s helping me. Hes Kind and Insightful. Life-saver.
