Dr. Andrew Joseph Zerkle

This is the worst physician I have seen. This physician has absolutely no bedside manner. This physician's idea of follow-up regarding an ongoing condition is a three sentence statement sent via an online portal. He failed to tell me the details of my pathology report (which I obtained after chasing down the doctor to get an actual paper copy). If you are looking for a doctor to rubber stamp your yearly visit, I would choose Dr. Zerkle. However, if you are looking for a doctor to care about you and your diagnosis and follow up with you regarding your condition, Dr. Zerkle is not the physician for you.

I was referred to Dr. Zerkle when my doctor in the same practice had retired. I have dealt with gynecological pain for more than 10 years, and at this point had already had two surgeries to remove endometriosis. I asked for someone similar to my previous doctor. Although my first visit was OK with Dr. Zerkle, it went downhill from there. I was unfortunately feeling symptoms similar to ones I had experienced to prior surgeries (**PAIN**). During exams, I struggle with anxiety (day to day I am NOT an anxious person) due to the many exams, surgeries, appointments, etc. to help with this issue. Dr. Zerkle was not compassionate, if anything he made me feel more uncomfortable. During exams I typically fight back tears because of pain/anxiety and Dr. Zerkle did nothing to ease that. The last straw was a visit where I waited almost 60 minutes, and after the exam, he made me feel like it was in my head. Suggested that I either began a controversial medication (again.. for a second… round) or another surgery. Did not offer any suggestions that were particularly helpful. I had researched specialists, and decided I would go to another practice in Atlanta for surgery (this would be the last one I went through). When I asked Dr. Zerkle about going to the specialist (Center for Endometriosis- THEY ARE AMAZING) he made me feel extremeley uncomfortable and his response was.. "if you think it's necessary". He would be fine for anyone who is healthy, and simply does a yearly exam. The moment you have an issue (cysts, endometriosis, fibroadenoma, etc.) RUN!!! Not competent to handle stress that can often come with painful disorders...

He gave me and my fiance the wrong diagnosis, and we lost our baby the very next day. He did not do a full examination like he should have. He rushed through the whole examination process. And if we would have followed his advice I would have lost my fiance also. I think dr. andrew zerkle should resign as a doctor asap, before he cause someone else to lose their life.
