Dr. Andy Wei-Meng Lam, MD

This visit is by far one of the WORST appointments I have ever had with a physician. From the moment he entered the space, his bedside manner was nonexistent because his responses were curt, and quite frankly, he seemed annoyed. Possibly, he had a long day or something that occurred before seeing me; regardless, he should not have carried it into my appointment. His failure to make a differential diagnosis was disheartening, and he blew off my concern. I got some traction when I explained that my family is in medicine and his assessment was lacking, but his arrogance and lack of patient care were deafening. The patient-doctor relationship was nonexistent, and I would argue that his ego was the main wedge preventing it. I am sorely disappointed with the Kaiser experience overall and wish my employer had a better healthcare option. I highly doubt this complaint will even move the needle in responsive healthcare that sees the patients for who they are or what a fraction of culturally… responsive care could look like. I would not recommend Andy to any of my family members, and I implore you not to waste your time with him. I simply want a competent doctor who can listen, access, and at least pretend to give a damn. I fear I will never find that within this organization—the disrespect and dismissal have been consistent since I became a member of Kaiser.
