Summary
Eddie Mercado, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1998. He received his undergraduate degree in Pre-Med Studies from Ohio Northern University in 1995. Growing up with moderately high nearsightedness, Dr. Mercado was introduced to optometry at a very young age. He was intrigued by the examination and amazed at how well glasses and contacts allowed him to see. Dr. Mercado says that being an optometrist enables him to create many times every day that same feeling he had when he could finally see more clearly. Dr. Mercado is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Ohio Optometric Association, and Miami Valley Society of Optometrists. He and his wife, Tammy, have three active children. In his free time, Dr. Mercado enjoys watching all his children’s activities and participating in local triathlon events.
