Dr. Angel Ernesto Tafur, MD

Heartless. Father with stage IV cancer was released from hospital on Thursday afternoon. Mother fell and broke her arm on Friday. Called his office Friday evening asking for a referral for a home health aid and was told, "it's the weekend, I can't do anything until Monday." Looking for a lawyer to incentivize a little compassion, and a new provider.

My partner and I visited and were both struck by his poor attitude and rather rude comments. He made no referrals for the medical issues discussed so we went to a different Doctor who was very pleasant and referred me for 2 treatments and a checkup. AVOID !

I've been with Dr. Tafur since 2006. I wouldn't change! His entire staff have ALWAYS been courteous, prompt, and responsive , competent. Little if any wait time for appointment or in waiting room. In this past year, several significant emergency episodes, and this marvelous group (Dr. Tafur, Lauren, and the staff) resolved and/or guided me to the right places for resolution.! He's not perfect, (who is?) I sometimes need to end up infusing my own common sense . The dr. may not like it, but he works with me about things... I get from him what I give: confidence, respect... I am firm with him if I think he is not listening. But rude? Angry reviews don't influence me about Dr. Tafur; they influence me about the writers (Why do these folks not sign a name? ) He got me through 12 months of chemo complications, stood by me, and has since kept me well. I am very happy with Dr. Tafur and his staff. Carol Tierney

Approaching 13 years as a patient, Doctor Tafur has consistently delivered the best diagnosis and medical care I have experienced in my over 81 years! And during these years under his care, his office personnel have gone out of their way to assure I get to see Doctor Tafur when I need his help. The office people are knowledgeable and timely with their assistance. Perhaps those who have complained went into this with an attitude limiting their judgment of Doctor Tafur. Bob Bush

I've been going to Dr. Tafur for about three years. At first he seemed fine and I liked him but 9ver the last year or so I've come to dislike his bedside manner. He's rude, curt, he doesn't seem to listen to your concerns. I specifically asked about Cologuard and he was very put off about the procedure instead pushing a colonoscopy which I don't want. I specifically asked about Cologuard because a friend who works for another doctor and I spoke about as a stepping stone in easing my fears. Dr. Tafur totally disregarded them. Also had toto do gymnastics to get my blood pressure rx renewed. He told me he was renewing the told the staff not to until I had blood work. At this time I'm openly looking for another GP.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Tafur and his wife, Lauren, since arriving in The Villages over 10 years ago. We have always found both of them extremely professional, friendly, and interested in us as people, far beyond the health issues. I can't believe some of the comments I have read. His staff is always very friendly, handling our needs efficiently, making appointments, and calling us for reminders. I once was travelling and forgot to take my meds with me and Lauren checked on the missed calls on a Sunday, and had my prescriptions sent to the nearest drug store. When we have issues beyond what a family practitioner handles, they have always been quick to refer us to other highly qualified doctors. We recently referred our new neighbors to them and they reported back to us that they had wonderful experiences with each of them. Donna Eaton

Dr Tafur was incredibly rude and disrespectful to me during my first visit...wanted to argue everything I brought up and was more interested in asserting, what was clearly, his lack of knowledge. His staff is not any better... Never have I been to a medical practice where everyone starting from the doctor is so unprofessional, rude and disrespectful! NEVER!!! Not sure how he’s still practicing medicine.

Arrogant, does not listen, elitist, never will return... went into hallway to review his credentials... nurse "not allowed in hallway, safety concerns"...

One appointment. Left. Rude and sarcastic as soon as he opened his mouth. First experience like this in 60 yrs. Now doctor at Freedom Pointe rehab but he doesn't see patients. Lucky for them. Hope he skims records.
