Dr. Angel Julian Yap, MD

I saw Dr. Yap last week at that SOS clinic at Saddleback church and the experience was horrible to say the least. Every single question she would ask, she would interrupt me while I was giving her the answer. I had told her that 3 years ago I had surgery on my elbow that needed plates and screws. I had mild anxiety after the surgery, the first time ever and told her I had been prescribed Lorazapam and it helped greatly. She wrote me a prescription for Alprazolam but I didn't notice it until the prescription was filled. I mentioned it to the pharmacist and he said there was nothing he could do. In the middle of the night last Saturday, I awoke and was short of breath so I took one of the pills she prescribed and it did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I called her office today to let them know she had prescribed the wrong medication and was told it was not a mistake. I was told that Dr. Yap and all the other Dr's at that clinic do not like to prescribe Lorazapam and what I got is what they like to… prescribe. She had also prescribed Wellbutrin and that was not filled until today because she wrote out the prescription incorrectly and my insurance would not approve it until it was finally corrected this morning. Terrible!, terrible!, terrible!

Dr. Yap is a highly rated Doctor who I would recommend to all my friends and family. She is friendly, intelligent, and has the patients best interest at heart.

I lost my insurance, can't afford "affordable" care, and dreaded the reality that all I could afford was what sounded like a low cost--and perhaps low quality--clinic. Boy, was I wrong! The staff was courteous, prompt, and professional, and the doctor was GREAT! She was thorough, answered my questions, and was nice. Whenever I do get insurance again, I hope Altamed is on the plan.
