Dr. Angela Yingche Chen, MD

The worst gynecologist I've ever had! Will never come back! She took the analysis very painfully and damaged my cervix. I asked what I should do now and she answered: take ibuprofen. Seriously? I myself could have guessed that and doctor is not needed. No candles inside, ointments - she gave nothing! And the fact that she made me an injury and a problem - she didn't even apologize. With such doctors, women suffer and do not become mothers !!! She is indifferent, rude, harsh and unpleasant.

Dr. Chen is an excellent physician and surgeon. I was extremely impressed with her compassion, breadth and depth of expertise, and procedural skills. She made my entire experience in her office easy, and the staff were 100% professional, caring, and efficient. I would recommend her to all of my family and friends.

Went to this doc several years ago after having a copper IUD inserted by another OBGYN. It was causing pain and I was having frequent vaginal infections, which I never had before. She came in, I told her my symptoms, she looked skeptical and said I was getting infections from BAD HYGIENE. She took out the IUD like I was being stupid, and it was a waste of her time. After, she just walked out like she couldn’t stand me, as I was thanking her. After getting the IUD out, no more pain and no more infections. What a rude doctor, who doesn’t seem to know, after all those years of ‘training’, that a small percentage of women may have a bad reaction from IUD’s.

I had to wait an hour after my scheduled appointment time to see the doctor. Once she finally arrived, she had not reviewed any of my medical records which I had taken the time to send ahead of time. The biopsy, which I had done two times prior with another doctor, was painful and took a long time. It was a horrible experience compared to my prior doctor which went smoothly. This doctor finally sent me results via the online portal with a sentence telling me to schedule an appointment. After requesting more detail, she told me to make an appointment to discuss. Every visit, she charges $350 for an office visit. I requested she take 5 minutes to call me to discuss and 2 weeks later I have heard nothing. I will be switching doctors after receiving a $1000 bill for the biopsy which should have cost $300.

Dr. Chin is knowledgable but when in appointments there is a lack of genuine concern, it feels to routine which I guess comes with 21 years of experience. My biggest disappointment is I started out with quick follow up responses to my questions but my last 2 questions have gone a month without a response. Granted I have had an appointment since then to ask questions in person and I am unsure if the delayed response is due to her assistant or herself.

If you care about your baby, and want him/her to be taken good care of before arriving this world, DO NOT go to see Angela Chen. She is a successful professor and busy doctor, but she DOES NOT care about her patients. When I didn't gain much weight during my pregnancy, I told her my concern, and she said :"It's OK.You don't need to eat if you are not hungy, you only need to eat when you are hungry." When I told her my baby doesn't move much, she said:"It's OK. Not every baby moves a lot, especially during the end of pregnancy." She didn't even ask me to count the baby kick during my whole pregnancy. When I visited her on my 40 weeks, I asked her what should I do if I am overdue, and she just sent me to the NST and said:"They will tell you what to do." and disappeared. My son ended up overdue 8 days and had severe meconium infection and brain damage. He was in the NICU for 3 weeks and almost died. When she heard my tragedy, she said :"I'm sorry, but baby's brain can recover soon. "… Yes,of course, it's OK. My baby has to fight against his brain damage from the first day he came this world till the end of his life and she is still a successful doctor.

Appointments are super rushed and she is disorganized and not thorough. She also seems very fake.

Dr Angela Chen just do not care about her patients at all. It seems the only thing she cares about is her own career. She always put a fake smile on her face and you will definitely feel it when you goes to her. She is irresponsive as well, e.g. she was gossiping about another doctore with her assistant when she did a test on me. Her staff Cathy is awful and unreachable as well. I tried to request my diagnostic report after my visit with Dr Chen and I called in to her office for over 5 times and left multiple messages. Cathy, her assistant, managed to ignore all my phone calls and messages until I warned her in the message that I will file a complaint if she does not respond by the end of that week. Overall, I would not recommend Dr Chen to anybody. If you want to find a Gyn, definitely go to somewhere else.

office wait time doesn't matter. expertise and compassion: a very rare combination. excellent doctor.
