Dr. Angela C Harris, DO

Dr. Harris is pleasant and kind, but I am very dissatisfied with her as a primary care physician. She's been my PCP for about 2 years, and I am now switching to someone else. My greatest complaints are with two of her policies: a) She refuses to speak with a patient on the phone for any reason. This creates many hours and days of miscommunication between her staff acting as a go-between and herself, and me. She doesn't get accurate messages from me, and I don't get accurate messages from her. This has caused me to go without medical services and medication needed within 48 hours. It also caused her to take me off one blood pressure medication that was perfect for me, and put me on another, which I found out (on my own after calling all around town for a whole day) was unnecessary. b) her nurse informed me that she, "does paperwork ONLY on Thursdays." I needed a medical release to exercise signed and returned by fax to my health club, and was told that it could take longer than a… week. My health club staff said most doctors return the form within a day, two at the most. Finally, when I call the office and am frustrated, her nurses take it personally and take a rude and impatient attitude with me, instead of trying to understand that I am sick, in pain, and don't have the time or energy to deal with all of the confusion that her policies cause. And be sure, these are her policies because other doctors at Ochnser do not do the same.

I have been seeing Dr. Harris since I first came to the U.S.A in 2012, she really listens and takes the time to answer every and all questions/concerns. every appointment I have had with her I leave feeling confident, optimistic, fully satisfied with my medical care. I have seen a few other doctors based on specialty need or location and convenience and returned to Dr. Harris every time!
