Counseling is a second career for Angela. Her dedication to this work began after witnessing a close friend struggle to find appropriate mental health care for their child for many years. Feeling strongly that she wanted to give back to others struggling with managing mental health disorders, Angela decided to leave a for-profit position for more meaningful work in counseling and psychology. She feels very much at home as a therapist. Angela utilizes a variety of evidence-based techniques with her clients including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Angela has been practicing meditation and body-centered awareness (a type of mindfulness) for many years, using some of the techniques from these practices with her clients.
