Dr. Angela Denise Houghton

DR. HOUGHTON, IS A LITTLE ON THE QUIET SIDE TO THE POINT NO MESSING AROUND NO CHIT CHAT. HOWEVER, THAT IS WHY I WENT TO HER I NEEDED TO HEAR THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH AND SHE PROVIDED THAT ALONG WITH THE CARE AND SURGERY I NEEDED. I AM SO THANKFUL I CHOSE HER AND WILL AGAIN IF NEED BE. SHE, IS DEFINETLY NOT A RACIST AND A VERY NICE WOMAN WHEN YOU GET TO KNOW HER. AFTER ALL MY VISITS THAT IS WHAT I GOT FROM HER AND HER STAFF. I NEVER HAD ISSUES WITH MY WAIT TIME ON MY VISITS. THERE WAS AN APPOINTMENT SET AND I WAS MET WITH THAT TIME IN MIND.

Dr. Houghton was very helpful, straight forward, and kind to me during my miscarriage. It is awful to see reviews claiming that she is racist, by the way learn how to spell, I am of African-West Indian descent and she treated my Husband and I with a informative, caring attitude. Only complaint is the wait time in the lobby, but worth the wait.

Dr. Houghton delivered my son 15 years ago. I had complications during my pregnancy. Dr. Houghton saved my son's life. A less thorough doctor may have missed the signs. She is very straight-forward and doesn't sugar coat things, which some people may be turned off by. But she is a great doctor!

I have given birth to 7 children and she was the on call dr for my daughter's first delivery. She is mean, rude and uncaring. She made my daughter push for 4 hours till her dr. came on call at 7am. and she was ready to deliver after 45 minutes. It was awful. she would not break her water to speed up the delivery process, that should have been our first clue and the only good thing the nurses could say about her was "she's a very smart dr.". My daughter had never met her before and did not even know she practiced at the office she went to. The only thing I can think of to warrant the dr.'s behavior is that she must be a rasist because if thats not it then she is just plain mean and evil.

Dr. Houghton ordered a diagnostic mammogram for me rather than a preventive mammogram. What she told me, however, was simply that she was ordering my mammogram with an option for the imaging center to perform a sonagram if needed, not explaining that the mammogram itself would be different from a regular preventive annual mammogram so that I could be aware of the need to check with my insurance company on coverage. When I found out afterwards that everything would go against my deductible because it didn't fall under my regular annual mammogram, I called to ask her some questions about her order, per my insurance company's request. She refused to talk to me on the phone, requiring an in-person consultation, with charges, in order to ask my question. I was unable to get my question answered from the office adminstrator, the only person I was allowed to talk to. And she, in fact, was rude, condescending, obnoxious, and even accused me and the insurance claims person of attempting to… engage in insurance fraud. I have NEVER had a doctor refuse to talk to me on the phone about an order he/she had given in a past office visit. I no longer have any confidence in this doctor and will not return. And I recommend against Dr. Houghton to everyone who reads this. One way or another, she and/or her staff will frustrate you and cost you extra money.
