Dr. Angelique M Hart, MD

Dr. Hart was highly recommended, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to help me. She's just as poorly informed about menopausal issues and hormone replacement as conventional, insurance-based doctors, though she claims to be an endocrinologist. She also chronically is far behind schedule, so after a long wait to see her, she's not able to give adequate time to the patient. Alarmingly, she brushes aside concern about chest pain, cardio care. I can't recommend her as a primary care doc, nor even as a specialist.

Dr. Hart tends to be so busy that she falls far behind in her schedule, and has to rush through her appointments. What's worse, she doesn't have any way of keeping track of what was discussed in the previous appt., so time is wasted repeating previous history and bringing her up to date again and again, repeating the same thing every session. She sometimes contradicts herself from one session to the next, which is very difficult to deal with. She was so inconsistent in her statements about my condition and treatment that I finally had to quit and find someone else.

Dr. Hart spend an hour with me on my first visit reviewing my medical history, exam and plan of action. Thank you so much for getting my health and well being on track!

Dr. Hart is very impressive in her holistic approach to health. She is the only doctor I've found in 30 years of searching who could diagnose and successfully treat my lifelong thyroid disease. She was the only endocrinologist I've ever found who was able to tie in to thyroid as a root cause a multiplicity of difficult symptoms I've had for decades, all of which resolved with thyroid treatment. She was flexible enough to allow alternative thyroid remedies when conventional Pharma didn't work. I would not trust anyone else but Hart and Heilbron with thyroid treatment. Her annual exams are remarkably thorough, like doctors used to provide back in the 1950's! In other areas, though, her instructions are sometimes vague or inconsistent. It's helpful to take notes of her instructions, so that later contradictions can be questioned. Unlike other doctors, she doesn't take notes during patient meetings, so patient information needs to be repeated at each meeting, which takes time away from… more important concerns. Dr. Hart is able to diagnose and treat endocrine conditions that most other endocrinologists are not trained to work with. This fact alone outweighs any negative points. Patient wait times for appointments can be as long as 1/2 hour, on rare occasion longer, but it's well worth the wait. The staff are very professional and personable. It can sometimes be difficult to reach the office by phone. The practice is expanding rapidly (as of 2012), so the doctor is trying to keep up with the need to increase accessibility and staff support. I recommend this practice for anyone with any chronic health condition that has defied treatment by more conventional doctors.
