Dr. Angelo A Takos has trained with some of the world's most prominent cosmetic dentists.
Dr Takos attended New York University College of Dentistry on a full scholarship by scoring in the top 1% in the US on his dental entrance examination. Upon his graduation in 1993 Dr. Takos was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor society, an honor reserved for the top 5% of all dental graduates in the United States. He then went on to a one year General Practice Residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn where he refined his clinical skills and trained in Emergency Dentistry as well as Facial Trauma and Facial reconstructive Surgery.
Dr Takos opened his practice in Astoria NY in 1995 with the philosophy "If I won't perform a procedure on my own family, I won't perform it on anyone".Dr Takos decided early in his carreer to have a practice based on quality and individual attention rather than volume.
Dr Takos has a genuine passion for Dentistry and attends numerous …dental seminars and hans on courses every year, so that he may continue to bring the highest level of dentistry to his patients. Dr Takos is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the World Clinical Laser Institute, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and the Hellenic Dental Society.
Dr Takos is a Master of the the Academy of General Dentistry, a disctinction held by less than 1% of the practicing dentists in the US. Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry is an award requiring 1100 hours of continuing education with 400 of those hours in hands on training in all 16 disciplines of dentistry.There have been only 2,200 dentists worldwide that have achieved Mastership since the award was first introduced back in the early 1960's.
He also holds degrees in Laser Dentistry from the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the World Clinical Laser Institute
Dr Takos has appeared in numerous Television interviews and newspaper articles in the Hellenic community and is considered by many the authority on all aspects of Cosmetic Dentistry and General Dental Health.
