Awful, diagnosed my brother with vasovagal syncope and refused to listen to us when my brother had another seizure. We went with another neurologist and no surprise, Dr. Wilfong was wrong and my brother indeed has epilepsy and not syncope

Best pediatric neurologist in North America, hands down. Story is too long to post, but this man is the real deal with epilepsy treatments.

Some reviews are claiming poor bedside manner. He may not win an award for warmest personality, but he isn't cold--just quiet, deliberate, and professional. When it comes to your child (or you) do you want the best doctor or one who is mediocre, but gives you a hug? My answer is I want the best doctor. In one appointment, we have ideas and plans that I hadn't really received from seeing FOUR other neurologists (excluding the consults during hospitalizations) over five years. My daughter won't be cured, but you can tell he cares about a) identifying the real problem (still unknown) and b) fixing that problem. This is what you should be looking for in a doctor. If you want better bedside manner (which is overly subjective) then you, as a parent, are welcome to take your child to a less proficient doctor, so you feel more "listened to". In neurology, I've spent 5 years, with no medical degree, and very little training, determining the medical treatment for my child. It's refreshing to… find someone who really seems to understand epilepsy and will help guide treatment options. I'm looking forward to working with him.

Dr. Wilfong has very poor bedside manners. He was pompous and full of narcissism during our visit to Texas Children's epilepsy center. He did not listen to us and diagnosis was inaccurate. We ended up seeing another neurologist.

I waited 5 months to see this doctor but highly disappointed with his bedside manner and patient approach.

Dr Wilfong is incredible! He is extremely knowledgeable and on the cutting edge in his industry. He treats my child as if he is the only patient he has. Dr Wilfong keeps us grounded and sensible. Reassured and well taken care of! We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to be patients under his care.
