Dr. Anja Oksnes, MD

Anja Øksnes, MD, serves as Co-Director of Complex PCI and CTO Programs at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of New York City’s premier programs for complex coronary care. Dr. Øksnes is a full-time faculty member of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and holds the position as associate professor at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.An internationally recognized clinician and researcher, Dr. Øksnes brings extensive experience to her work at Columbia. Before joining the institution, she was a consultant interventional cardiologist at Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, where she was lead of the CTO and Complex PCI Program. She also contributed to the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) program.Dr. Øksnes has been principal investigator for national and international clinical trials, including the INVEST-CTO study. At Columbia, Dr. Øksnes plays an active role in training interventional cardiology fellows, …guiding junior faculty, and supporting professional development across the cardiovascular care team. She is committed to research, education and mentorship.
