Dr. Ankur Bindal, MD

Had an appointment with this guy. No call 20 min in, then 30 min in still waiting. I contact the office and they say “oh that’s your appointment time ‘range’”. This isn’t the cable provider or an electrician, I shouldn’t have some “range” of time within a 1 hour slot. Therapy has a set time frame. This method is extremely inconsiderate of people’s time. They basically want you to block off 2 hours of your day for a 1 hour appointment that will take place at their convince. I also kept getting odd text notifications from this office with changing appointment times. Overall a really strange experience in which I don’t think they have their stuff together. I’ll be continuing my search.

I have been seeing Dr. Bindal for 1 year now. My journey started with moving to San Diego to join this Pharma company, and within 2 months, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. That’s when my path crossed with Dr. Bindal. He sees patient within few days and constantly saw me every 2 weeks to get over the doom. I’m recovering now, and in much better spirits. But I don’t know what would I have done without his help and care. I wish him nothing but happiness and would definitely give him 6 out of 5 stars if I could.

Subject says it all. He is just a good good human being, and genuinely cares about well being about his patients. If you just walk into his practice, you are surrounded by just good vibe about him from everyone. Highly recommend. He is not your guy if you are wanting him to give you certain type of medications, or not willing to accept your core problems and real willingness to change.

He is just a God send to me and my husband. We both see him. We are so thankful that he is so passionate about what he does and his positive energy drives all of us. I am a retired attorney and had a very successful career. However in the past 1 year, I had been traumatized by so much stress. Not only did Dr. Bindal help me in identifying my condition correctly (although I was in denial of my own existence of depression), but also recommended this new technology, TMS. I have not felt this much better ever before. Both Jake (my husband) and I, wholeheartedly, recommend Dr. Bindal highly. He is just the best!

I found this doctor while looking for psychiatrists currently accepting patients for treatment of anxiety. AND, I was not disappointed at all. Scheduling is super easy, I was able to get in to see him within 2 days of my call. The front staff was very compassionate. He was able to address most of the stated issues in a very time efficient manner. He was thoroughly professional and very knowledgable in his treatment for these conditions. Will definitely recommend him highly. Pros: Ease in scheduling, very time efficient, extremely well rounded professional care, compassionate Cons: Very limited prescription of addicting drugs (which is an advantage for me, as I have history of abuse), doc limits conversations to patient care quickly aka less mushy (no nonsense, cut the crap and jump to patient care). I have seen close to 20 different "psychs", but I know I have found the one that I need. A lot of people from our PTSD group see Dr. Bindal and have benefitted from his treatment.… We all do like him very much!

Went in for a previous correct diagnosis but he didn't even ask me questions until he assumed it was anxiety and depression. I had not even sat in the chair before he was ready to write a script for that. That's just weird. He doesn't have magic, or does he think he is psychic, I mean that's how he acted...

Our community lost a great great doctor. He was such a blessing to Yuma. :(

Tremendous Doctor. Highly recommend

I am delighted to write this review for Dr. B! Very experienced doc, not reflected by his age. I will start with the negatives first: I think he spends less time building rapport, which is understandable considering his massive patient load, and long wait times to get in his schedules. He jumps straight to clinical management, so expect less personal questions and more focussed problem solving questions. Positives: Great great great clinical acumen. Treats mental health problems aggressively and appears very passionate about patient care. Very straight on approach - does not beat around the bush. Have been seeing him for 3 years now and although, I must admit, initially I disliked his straigh approach, his treatment eventually has made such a positive impact on my personal and professional life. I went from wanting to be on home, maybe on disability, to working hard and now the manager of one of the establishments. All through out he maintained a very professional, concise, problem… solving approach. Will recommend him to anyone, who are really wanting to accept their real problems, and are committed to getting better.
