Dr. Ann R Brewer, MD

she may have been a good doc along time ago ...but she really needs to retire!!!!!

my problem was recurrent seizures and i was in need of a good doctors help. all she would do is literally check my blood pressure and reflexes and set me up with another appointment.

I have suffered from epilepsy for the past 14 years and have been diagnosed with it twice (once from UNCC medical hospital and again from Winston Salem Baptist). About 7 years ago, I went to SMH emergency room because I was having seizures back to back and they wouldn't stop (I had run out of all my sedatives). The ER doc called the on call neurologist which was Dr Brewer. She told me I was imaging the seizures and I actually had migraine headaches. The ER doc then refused to write me a prescription for a sedative because Dr Brewer had reported to him that I was imaging the seizures and I left there still having seizures!! I followed up at her office a week later. I arrived there about 20 minuted before my appointment and I still had to sit in the waiting room for almost a hour. Then she was rude and disrespectful of me and I felt I had no privacy while there. She was very unprofessional.

I was set to see Dr. Brewer first at nine a.m. Yet when I got to her office, fifteen minutes early, I still had to wait an hour to see her and watch others go before me. Even a man who didn't have an appointment was seen before me. When I was finally called back, she didn't even have the courtesy to use my name just, "you there".During the visit she was snobby, rude, talked down to me and made snide comments about me to her secretary. She acted as though I had ruined her whole day. She even made me cry with her rudeness. I have seizures (documented) and she still spoke to me as if I was lying to her. She went as far as asking why I was even there. I told her because my doctor told me to see a neurologist. She simply rolled her eyes. Instead of having me get an EEG, she told me to have a brain scan as that was the cheapest and more in my range. This is a doctor I wouldn't even refer to my worst enemy. In my opinion her license should be revoked.
