Dr. Ann Marie Monroe, MD

I crushed my spine top to bottom in 1987. I still kept working (too hard) and have been in horrible pain since. I originally used MI Pain Consultants, Javery then Grand Rapids Pain where they stopped administering opioids. I was at the end of my rope! 2 visits with Dr. Monroe. She did muscle injections the first time them trigger point injections the second. She felt along my spine muscle by muscle then hit the appropriate nerves. I was also having horrible muscle and tendon inflammatory pain. NSAIDS tend to upset my stomach. She started me on two different meds to see which works better. I am in almost no pain for the first time in 40 years. I'm shocked! Nobody took the time nor had th touch Dr. Monroe does! Your results Will vary! Understand that she's not a magician, there are no miracles in pain control. I will say that she has been by far the most sensitive and logical of any pain doctor and I've seen a bunch! She questioned my surgeries and other treatments and thoroughly… presented the logic in her thinking.

Doc Monroe is very understanding! She always listens to what I have to say. We go over my problems and we both decide what will help me.... Thank You Doc!!

I took my elderly mother to Dr. Monroe for leg pain. After the exam, she had very little patience in explaining her findings to my mom. She wanted to check with another doctor & said we would hear form her, but she never followed through. It took 4 calls from us to find out what to do next. She ordered another test & again we have not heard anything back from Dr. Monroe. The well being of a patient should come first & we do not feel we received that kind of treatment.

the staff is very helpful and pleasant to deal with. this is the first point of contact and for me this was a positive one. Dr. Monroe discussed my options in managing my horrific leg pain caused by a pinched nerve/buldging disc. I opted for the pain shots which I felt were successful. she walked me thru every proceedure of the injection and was very caring and thorough. I will meet with her again to discuss a long term fix versus managing the pain. surgery at this point is not what I want But I would like to know the pros and cons. all in all Dr. Monroe met all my expectations and I am pleased with her treatment. i would highly recommend her!!
