Dr. Anna Dendy, PhD

I first started seeing Dr. Dendy for a combination of depression and anxiety symptoms in summer of 2014. I had been struggling terribly for years and felt completely desperate, trapped with no solution to how I was feeling. At first I was very skeptical about trying a new therapist, as I had visited a few different therapists in the past. These experiences had ranged from neutral to very negative. Dr. Dendy, however, was different from the first visit. I actually found myself looking forward to the weekly therapy sessions, because her advice and gentle guidance was so effective. Her personal approach got right to the heart of the issues I was experiencing. The process encouraged me to discover ideas, beliefs, and patterns within my thinking that I had previously been blind towards - which resulted in deep and lasting change. I went to see Dr. Dendy weekly for roughly 6 months. The change in myself is nothing short of miraculous. Last summer, I was suicidal and… isolated from friends and family, and hated my life and myself. I was stuck in years-long patterns that were keeping me from moving forward in my goals. This summer, I have hope, optimism, and feel so far away from my "old self" that I find it hard to even remember what that time in my life was like. My career is taking off and my relationships are more healthy and stable than ever. Thank you, Dr. Dendy, for introducing me to the life I never knew I could have.
