Anna Hohler, MD

A cold fish. Probably the poorest communicator of any MD I've ever dealt with. She seems to think that, because patients are not doctors, they can't understand things, so there's no point in sharing. She barely explained a procedure to me. I learned far more in a five-minute talk with a radiologist before a spinal tap than she gave me in several office visits. Despite a scary diagnosis, she never offered to expand on her findings by giving me additional printed or online resources. When I told her I had gotten shingles (a neurological condition)she barely sat up in her chair even to glance at my skin. I'm in the process of getting a second opinion from a neurologist in another hospital.

Writing this while trying to recover from horrible experiences with this doctor. She’s Impatient, arrogant, poor listener, doesn’t return calls or answer portals in any way near a timely manner. Leaves you to suffer and deteriorate. There’s something seriously wrong with this doctor. Steer clear.

Since I was 13, I've been to many doctors and specialists with clear symptoms of dysautonomia. I and, when I was younger, my parents, fought scores of doctors who dismissed my symptoms claiming that my parents were making it up or that I had anxiety. Dr. Hohler was the first doctor to 1. Take the time to listen to all of my symptoms across the board (gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, neurological), 2. Not dismiss any of my symptoms, and 3. Actually make a diagnosis and prescribe a treatment plan (and it's helping!). She is incredibly knowledgeable yet able to explain everything in an understandable way. I recommend Dr. Hohler many times over.

Incredibly competent and matter of fact, but still warm and cares deeply about patient quality of life. It’s so reassuring and unfortunately unusual to have my symptoms be believed, no question. Very reachable thru the web portal between appointments and scheduling the initial appointment had a surprisingly short wait. I would recommend everyone with POTS see Dr. Hohler. I feel so lucky I found her.

Dr. Hohler has saved my life. She is the best neurologist I have had the pleasure of seeing (and if you have a chronic illness then you know what it's like seeing a million doctors). She has been great with managing my medication dosage (it took quite a few to find the right one to help me), answering my questions (sometimes it can take a few calls to get a call back but when she calls you, she gives you undivided attention), and she is very thorough. I am so grateful to have her be my neurologist.

I am the caregiver/wife of one her patients with Parkinson's Disease. Her assistant, Keith, spends as much time with us as we need and is extremely personable and helpful. The only problem I have with the team is that they don't address my husband's long term pain issues and he suffers for it. I would rather see my husband have better quality of life than be worried if he became dependent on pain meds. If a person truly need them, they should be offered. My husband has suffered needlessly because of the fear of scrutiny over prescribing narcotics.

She is one of the kindest Drs I have ever worked with. She really takes the time to talk with you and makes you feel very comfortable and heard. She is the best of the best. I have her on the highest pedistal.

It's difficult to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hohler but she's worth the wait. I was overly impressed!

Dr. Hohler is amazing. She is one of the most dedicated doctors I have ever met.
