Dr. Anna-Marie L Melchreit, MD

Dr. Melchreit was born in New London, Connecticut and grew up in nearby Niantic. She graduated from Smith College with a degree in biochemistry and attended medical school at the University of Connecticut Medical School. Dr. Melchreit went to Yale-New Haven Hospital for her pediatric residency. After graduation, Dr. Melchreit helped to establish a newborn intensive care unit at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. She began working at Gold Star Pediatrics in 1991 and has enjoyed taking care of patients there for over twenty years. Dr. Melchreit's husband Richard is a physician who works for the State Department of Public Health and they have two sons. Dr. Melchreit has played classical piano since the age of six and she is also interested in interior decorating and Major League Baseball.
