I wish I could have been seen, but since the appointment time was listed incorrectly in their system, I was not. And they are asking me to pay a no show fee of $150. My appt time was 2:30, I arrived at 2:00. They said my appt was at 10:30 and I wouldn’t been seen. Mind you, the front office lady said “we thought this might happen”. So if you thought there was a misunderstanding, then why not confirm? You are just going to sit back and let them miss the appt? They have no phone recordings, text messages, emails, or any type of appt confirmation to fall back on to show when my appt time actually was, so it’s my word against their’s. How convenient. I have been working the courage up for years to be seen, and then waited months to get the appt, and then this happens. I’m curious how many people get caught up in the “no show scam”.

Staff is very rude. I had to cancel an appointment due to work, called multiple times over three days during business hours and all calls when straight to voicemail. Left messages for a call back, finally called on Friday and I missed the call by one second, called back immediately and straight to voicemail. Called several times the rest of the day and all to voicemail. Called on Monday and finally got through, she said that because it’s the day of the appointment I was going to be charged a $50 no show fee. I explained how I have been trying to cancel for days and she said in a very condescending tone “do you think your time is more valuable than the doctor’s?”. I said I wouldn’t be coming back and to cancel my appointment if she charged me, I often have my work schedule change, she said ok and hung up on me. Another good doctor ruined by arrogant and rude staff.

I took my child to Dr. Yumal. She did not perform her duties as a MEDICAL doctor. A "medical" event was occurring in her office and she did not evaluate her patient until she was asked which is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. She never requested bloodwork to monitor my child's metabolic functions which is recommended for the strength and quantity of drugs my special needs child was receiving. In addition, in an emergent situation she is unavailable. If you want to receive the same meds without proper evaluation to your child then feel free to put your child at risk under this doctor's care.

I like Dr. Yumul, but won't go back due to her staff. I made the mistake of scheduling an appointment for my daughter on a school holiday. I forgot the appointment. My mistake, but I also did not get a reminder call from the office. When I realized I had forgotten the appointment I called the office and was chastised on the phone by the receptionist. She said there would be a $50 no-show fee that was clearly stated on the appointment card and the office usually calls, but doesn't have to give reminder calls because it's only a courtesy. I had to ask twice to reschedule the appointment. When I went to the rescheduled appointment, I asked after seeing the doctor if the no-show fee could be waived for first time mistakes.The same receptionist said (loud enough for the waiting room to hear) she didn't have the authority to make that decision and in her opinion it wasn't fair to people on the waiting list that I missed my appointment. Well, I made a mistake. I admitted that and a little… compassion would have been nice. She told me to call back at lunch. I came back at lunch instead of calling. When I came back, she started shaking her head and said "Oh, I just can't..." and got the other lady in the office.The other woman then took me back to an office and lectured me about missed appointments, looked at a list and said she did call me (she didn't, I checked my caller-ID, voicemail and checked the phone log for that day from the phone company) and then she proceeded to tell me that making patients pay a no-show fee showed the children the importance of responsibility. What?! I made a mistake, that doesn't make me irresponsible. So, I had to go back after the office closed to speak to the doctor. She listened and said she would speak to her staff and that I owed the no-show fee. I made the payment, I guess I deserved that, but I didn't deserve to be humiliated by the staff. I won't be back.

She was so kind to me! She listened and let me rant about all my feelings! She was very calm and made jokes every now and then to make me feel comfortable! She gave me very good answers! It was wonderful! She also didn't try to push pills. She gave me a prescription for something that I needed and that was all! I highly recommend her!

Dr. Yumul is an excellent interviewer/ diagnostician. She pays attention to body language and listens carefully to the patient. Her skill of observation is so quick that it comes across as intuition. She listened carefully to both myself and my child, and was respectfully to my child in that she did not question so as to invalidate my child's feelings/observations. Dr. Yumul helped alleviate the self-doubt that had been engendered in my child by previous psychiatrists, who questioned the veracity of my child's word. In prescribing, she strongly encouraged me to educate myself on the medications available for my child's disorder. Unfortunately, there is significant restrictions on the amount of time available to work with Dr. Yumul, placed on her by the clinic she works from. This creates a problem of access and quality of care if there is a critical emergence of symptoms, and treatment or an appointment is needed quickly. If Dr. Yumul were able to open an office… independent of the clinic she works with, then all these issues could be resolved!
