Dr. AnnaMarie Connolly

I had seen Dr Connolly for many years. She is very friendly before you get a surgery. But afterwards, forget it. It's so disappointing to literally put your life in her hands when you undergo a long surgery with her. Recommend you find another practice.

It is Very Difficult to reach Dr Connolly after a surgery when there's complications or problems. The UNC hospital discharge papers say to contact your surgeon with any serious problems by call the UNC Urogynecology Nurse Line ph number to reach her. When you call, the message says a nurse will get back to you in 2 working days. When and if they do call you, the nurse is often in another city (Raleigh) and don't know how to reach your surgeon. The patient portal is another option, but Dr Connolly does not read it; it has to go through 2 levels of nurses before she is forwarded the message. Good luck with that. If you call the UNC Urogynecology & Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery appointment desk and request they give an urgent message to Dr Connolly, they say they are no longer allowed to give her phone messages. They might suggest you page the UNC Uryogynecology surgeon/fellow on call and when you try that, the paging clerk says they only take calls after 5 pm (and that's hit and… miss depending who the fellow is).

I have seen Drr COnnelly for two years now, both for a prolapsed uterus and bladder issues. She is a very collaborative physician, wiling to dialogue with me about options for my conditions. She is also very knowledgeable and wiling to answer all my questions. She never feels rushed. She also pays attention to my whole person. I appreciate this verymuch

I cannot sing Dr. Connolly's praises enough. I had a difficult problem and she performed the surgery to correct it. My surgery was over ten years ago and I have never had any further complaints. She identified the problem and cured it!

Have spent 7 years and continuing with severe nerve pain after her "gold standard" urogyn surgery; then dismissed as "everything is fine".
