Dr. Anne Catherine Schwartz, MD

She has major burnout and should be retired given her age and years of practice. If you know the pattern on the reviews, she was an excellent caring doctor, now she’s just frustrated.

Both my husband and I saw Dr. Schwartz and it was an awful experience start to finish. When you arrive you are told to sign a form saying that you are responsible for all overages unpaid by insurance. Seem s ok at the onset until you realize weeks later when you get the bill that she over inflated and actually lied on the claims form she submitted to insurance. My husband and I were both diagnosed by her with completely bogus "conditions". When confronted she replied, "I have multiple offices and need to make money somehow." She also said she would give me a voucher to apply to my contact order and them refused to do so after I agreed to buy them directly from her. I filed a dispute with my insurance company and she continued the string of lies. She actually told the insurance company that she gave me a restaurant gift certificate to make things better! Unreal. Too many other qualified and more importantly honest and professional eye doctors in Mclean- seek them out. Do NOT go to Dr.… Schwartz!!!

Dr. Schwarz is knowledgeable, keeps current in her field, is very thorough, and is easy to talk to. Her staff are equally competent and very courteous. The office is well-organized. They have been managing my eyesight since 2014 and I could not be happier with the results.

Have been seeing Dr. Schwartz for maybe a dozen years. Since office enlarged a few years ago, front desk staff has completely deteriorated and Dr. Schwartz's care has decreased. She yawns during appointments, does not seem to check for things I would expect (like bifocal vision). I feel rushed for exams now. Icing on the cake was when she put my child's vision numbers into the eye machine and was surprised I could not read it. Office staff wrote a prescription for a friend's contacts with her glasses prescription; when she got the new contacts, she could not see a thing clearly. We are switching doctors.....I am done!

She is wonderful to deal with and is an excellent Doctor.

I was referred to this doc by another whom I respect. I have multiple chronic medical challenges including sarcoidosis. Having continual pain behind my eye & aware that sarcoidosis can effect the eyes, I was disappointed in her dismissive attitude. I won't return.

I've been wearing glass for 55 years, including contacts and a separate prescription for computer work. As a rule, I don't switch providers, nor health insurance providers without good reason. Dr. Schwartz is prompt, efficient, and if you know her as a mother and an artist, as well as a great doctor. She is kind, funny, and well informed. I read without my glasses and my near vision is stronger because of Catherine Schwartz. She is also concerned about keeping my health care costs low, and does not over prescribe or over treat. I have been a patient or supervised patients in the care of at least two of the other doctors on this list. As long as Catherine Schwartz is in practice, she will be my eye doctor.

Went in for an annual eye exam and for a check on cataracts. The total eye exam lasted maybe 10 minutes, with no check on near-sightedness. I have been wearing bifocals for the last 4 years, so wouldn't you think she would have done that part of the exam. Would NEVER go back to her. What a perfect example of a Dr. that should be sitting by a pool somewhere and not practicing medicine. She has had it as far as medicine. It made me angry to think I had to pay her for her pathetic exam.
