Dr. Anne Stewart Thomas, MD

Dr. Thomas was incredibly rude and insensitive to our family. My 2 year old fell at the park and broke her arm which required emergency surgery. She was transported by ambulance to Skyridge Hospital and was incredibly distraught, in pain and very scared. We had MULTIPLE doctors and nurses tell me I could go back to the OR with my daughter until she was sedated for surgery because she was so young and scared. Dr. Thomas came in cold and uncaring and refused to let me go back with her. She took my scared little girl away and showed absolutely no feeling what so ever. It broke my heart when they went to take my baby back to surgery and she asked “Mommy come too” and Dr. Thomas’ cold uncaring response was “No. Mommy is staying here.” We heard the way she treated other staff members at the hospital and I can’t believe she has a job. Rude doesn’t begin to describe this woman’s behavior. Not only that but my daughter was scheduled for surgery at 8, Dr. Thomas did not even grace us with her… presence until 9:30... there were no other patients ahead of our daughter. When I asked Dr. Thomas in post op what to expect regarding my daughter recovery and pain management she very coldly said “I don’t know l, you’ll have to ask the surgeon” and didn’t even make an effort to help answer the questions we had. My daughter went to the OR with her little security blanket she refers to as “Raggy” when we noticed it was missing Dr. Thomas’ response was “Oh I don’t know where it is. I haven’t seen it.” And she walked away. Thankfully one of the OR nurses went and found it for us before our daughter realized it was missing! This woman should absolutely NOT work in pediatrics! I don’t believe she should even be in the medical field as such a profession requires compassion and clearly that is not a trait Dr. Thomas posses in the least.
