Dr. Anne Winkler, MD

She has been my Rheumatologist 33 years. Now I'm lost. I lost one of the doctors I truly trusted. I cannot get into new Specialist this middle of April. So I feel like I'm sliding downhill. I wrote messages on Patient portal and got no answer about painful fingers. So went to Ortho she sent me to before. I will miss her. But she is still listed on everything but My Chart

Unfortunately, Dr. Winkler was quite rude and condescending from the start of my appointment. I have never experienced this sort of treatment in a professional type of setting and hope to never again. I will not be returning.

I would never see her again for any reason! She interrupted me in the middle of almost every sentence and tell me to tell her more. Uh I would of if she would let me finish. She was constantly typing when I did get to type, in which case she was obviously only heard pieces of what I said which was proved when I read her report on me and most of it was wrong or she only wrote enough of it to make me look stupid. There were a couple of instances where I told her that some of the tests done for certain conditions weren't the right ones/were done wrong. She agreed with me, even cited the right tests that should be done, but then put in my report that those the tests done were negative so there was no concern. Some comments were very rude and condescending. She ended her report with a recommendation that I be sent to a University Hospital where they specialize in more rare conditions and that she believed I only had fibromyalgia and significant psychologic overlay. So she believes nothing… is wrong and I'm crazy but that I need to go to a doctor to review for more rare conditions? Kind of contradicts herself there doesn't it? I respect someone who says that you need to see someone else because it's is past their specialty but I have no respect for someone that doesn't listen and then labels someone crazy for the same thing.

Where I able to rate with 0 stars I would. No one should waste their time, energy, or money to see this "doctor" that I can only imagine obtained an actual degree by using crayons and paper towels, because there is certainly no school that would be willing to endorse this kind of joke. I have had a virtually endless list of health problems during the course of my life, and seen many doctors frustrated when they can only tell me "there's *something* wrong but I have no idea what." I have seen some of the best and probably worst doctors across the country, and she falls into the category of being one of the worst. She refused to allow anyone in the room with me, physically "shooing" my mother and partner out like children, spoke to me the way one would a three year old, has no understanding of how to do a differential, and that's the start of it. The first couple of questions she asked, height and weight, she took notes on, after that she simply seemed bored. Her physical exam was… rushed, incomplete, and she didn't even give me time to respond or react to any stimulus. Despite having more than 10 years of history matching symptoms and lab results indicating Sjögren's, she concluded that I "probably just have fibromyalgia and IBS." I've spent most of my life studying in the medical field, my partner has fibro. This woman has no concept of how to place objective symptoms with subjective symptoms to form an actual diagnosis; though to be fair forming any opinion based on subjective symptoms would have required that she listen to me- which happened at no point. I rarely got to finish a sentence, eventually stopped even trying to respond since she didn't allow me time for even a "yes" or "no" reply, and on the rare occasion that she did let me speak her reply always began with the phrase "No, what you mean is..." I am not poorly educated, I have spent more time seeing doctors in a matter of years than most people would in a lifetime, and that is on top of studying to enter the medical field. I know exactly what I mean, and I said what I meant. I have no interest in spending months waiting to get an appointment and then driving over an hour to see a "doctor" that is going to tell me what I physically feel according to her whims. She told me that any random 100 people off the street would test with more definitive lab results than mine. Her condescension knew no bounds during that debacle of an appointment.

I have been going to Dr. Winkler since 1992 for RA. The first time I met her she listened to everything I had to say. She is very caring and attentive to my needs. She now has me on meds that have me in remission.

Dr Winkler is so amazing! She is thorough, attentive, and kind. I would recommend her to anyone.

She was the first doctor that was willing to continue to test and research until the core problem was found and a treatment was found that worked correctly.

Dr Winkler was my doctor for 10 years and I thought she was a kind and efficient doctor. My only complaint is that she just left town without any notification to her patients . I only found out when I called to confirm my appt which had been made six months in advance. I found this very upsetting and unprofessional and had to start over with another doctor.

The doctor did not have the benefit of records from my GP and yet was extremely opinionated and not asking or answering questions. Told me the opposite of 8 other specialists, all while spending 10 minutes with me. She abruptly left the office and refused to return, when I had questions, and additional input to give her, regarding my medical records. Took several months to get in. Supreme waste of time, and she is not the only one whose time is worth something. would not only NOT reccomend this "doctor" ( I use the term ONLY because I guess she finished medical school), but would provide my opinion to anyone who will listen. She did nothing "doctor-like" during my time with her.

I have been with Dr. Winkler for years now. She cares about her patients. She does everything she can for them. It shows she cares by the way she treats you.
