Dr. Annette Czernik, MD

I was seen for keloid injection and was told of small cyst chest wall which needed to be removed. It was about 1 cm in size. Now 4 months later I have 5 cm by 3 cm raised ugly scar. No one can explain to me why such a large incision was made and the pathology did not show a cyst. I was not given appropriate scar prevention treatment at my follow up visit. My local plastic surgeon told me the technique was awful and I have to wait a year to see if there is anything to be done. The only thing the office told me is I signed consent and outcomes not guaranteed

After seeing so many Doctors including leading doctors in the field of my disease. When I first met Dr. Czerneck and she told me she was going to take care of me and that I would be good she brought so much hope to my life. She was upset that other doctors were not giving me meds for preventive care being I was in begging steroids. She got me the proper treatment and tapered me down completely of the meds. Dr. Czerneck is my hero! ??

Dr. Czernik is GREAT; attentive, caring and thorough. I have gone to many other skin doctors for various reasons (some good, some not) over the years & would rate Dr. Czernik about the best I have been to.

I really enjoyed my experience with Dr. Czernik. When I visited her office, she was very kind and thoughtful about getting to the bottom of my issue. She followed up personally a few weeks later to make sure that I was doing well. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a doctor who will give you her full attention and care, and will do whatever possible to solve your issue.

Dr Czernik may be good with cosmetic dermatology (ie Botox and fillers) but I would avoid her when it comes to actual medical issues related to dermatology. Three big problems: (1) she prefers to treat the symptoms and totally ignore the cause - prescribing medications that must be taken for life; (2) she does expensive testing (which is, of course, fine if youre ever given the results) but a $400 bill came and months later, despite my calls, she STILL hasnt given me results, and (3) there is no followup from her or her staff. BTW, I originally went by the Mt Sinai rating for Dr Czermik; Ive just read the fine print, and not all patients are given the opportunity to give ratings insteas, they are "randomly selected". Medical Office or money mill?

Dr. Czernik is a wonderful doctor. She is extremely intelligent. She took her time with me. She explained everything in a way that I would understand. She has a wonderful bedside manner!

I can't recommend Dr. Czernik highly enough. Smart, analytical, LISTENS (i.e. processes your information), resourceful, and cautious. She's the best of everything you want in a medical caregiver. On top of everything she is incredibly caring and concerned. I'm in the middle of an abnormal and severe scabies infestation and she offered treatment alternatives that have helped to turn the tide. Her bedside manner is extremely helpful and transparent. I think her communication is far more honest and sincere than many other providers' styles. I think she listens to your condition as a person and not has a clinical case study, which is important because I think people's conditions manifest so differently. Lastly, she is uber helpful with prescriptions by helping provide resources for coupons and pharmacies with better deals/supplies. She really fights to help you from the inside out, emotionally to physically.

This is do-it-yourself dermatology. She said, "I'll give myou something. Use it twice a day for two weeks." No explanation, no instructions, no attempt to gain my consent. I discovered the prescription was for a dangerous cream ("wash hands immediately after use; keep away from nose, mouth and eyes"). And it was pricey (over $100). Now I have welts all over my face, particulary around my lips, eyes and nose from liquid nitrogen, and I need a new dermatologist.
