honestly his entire staff, dont like thier carrers, or lives thats the way they practice medicine, compassion is not a word in thier vocabulary, that i would not allow anyone at that practice to practice on my hamster!

I would have never selected this doctor for myself. I went to the hospital for depression and suicidal thoughts. This doctor saw me for less than 5 minutes, was very discompassionate, condescending, rude, and didn't listen. Although he was extremely quick to change my prescription and prescribe Prozac. I wonder if he gets kickbacks for prescriptions.I checked myself out of the hospital immediately after being seen by this hack. If I was to be in his care, I felt I was safer on my own.The nurses, however, were extremely kind and helpful.

I agree with the other opinions here as to Dr. Alvarez's arrogance and ineptitude. Doesn't want to take the time needed to give an accurate diagnosis.

If I knew how i would report this guy. He is the worst dr I have been to and I have seen 4. I agree with the other 2 bad bed side manner. He is a slacker he has his nurse talk to you so he doesn't have to spend a min more with you. He thinks he knows you after he ( or his nurse) talk to you for 5 mins. Can you say quick to judge. I wouldn't go to him if he paid me to see him and he paid 4 my meds.

I loved this doctor, he honestly is very caring and helped me get through a rough time in my life.Those people above are most likely just upset because he wouldnt prescribe them things to help their addictions.

honestly, i usually don't write reviews, but dr. alvarez was so bad, i wanted to make sure others were aware before they spent their time and money on him... he is too arrogant to be effective as a psychiatrist. he doesn't listen well, and he is disrespectful in his attitude toward patients and staff. i would look elsewhere for a psychiatrist if at all possible. he also tends to overprescribe medications.

I am not sure that Alvarez has the talent, temperament, or bedside manner to be an effective psychiatrist. Perhaps he should have selected a specialty better suieted to his skill set such as pathology. Again...reconsider your decision to seek guidance from Alvarez.
