Dr. Anthony L Colantonio, MD

I originally got my MMJ card from Dr Colantonio. I payed 150 for the "office visit" (The office was a head shop...). I was told right away to not go to curaleaf by the man working at the headshop. Instead I should go to medmen. So I did just that. Immediately I realized medmen was a terrible choice because they never have ANYTHING in stock. So I said screw it and went to curaleaf. It didn't take long for me to realize this was easily the best dispensary on Long Island. Great location, great prices and discount system, and great selection of products including flower. My 3 month prescription expired and I stopped going for a couple of months. When Dr Colantonio issued me my MMJ card, he told me all I had to do was text him and he would renew my script free of charge. So I texted him and asked him to renew it. He texted me back asking "which dispensary do you use?", I told him curaleaf. He then proceeded to tell me that patients who use curaleaf were getting sick all along the east… cost. I asked him how were they getting sick? He literally responded "I'm not sure". He then told me at the advice of his attorney, I would have to visit Dr Colantonios office, pay him 75 dollars, and sign a waiver saying I can use Curaleaf. So wait a minute...This place is going to get me sick, yet if I sign a waiver, everything is fine? What kind of Doctor would ever recommend that? "You're going to get sick if you go here, but as long as you pay me 75 dollars and sign a waiver, I don't care what you do with your body". That is not a doctor who's looking out for your health. That is a doctor who is extorting patients. Especially when it's a highly visited dispensary like Curaleaf. At first I went along with it. I had him renew my script. I asked him to email me my script, and instead he flat out ignored my request and emailed the script to another dispensary. I then asked him again to email my script and he refused. Obviously fearing that I would go to curaleaf. I wasn't aware that MMJ doctors could bar you from visiting the dispensary of your choosing. This guy is absolutely extorting patients. The worst part is that I don't even know how to report him, or who to report him to.

This "doctor" refused to let me go to the dispensary of choice saying the products there make people sick and contain pesticides. he made me see him and pay $$ monthly to allow me to go there. So if i paid over $1,000 a year I could go even though he claimed I would become sick... didn't feel right to me. Ended up reporting him to authorities and found a new reputable MMJ doc. Dont be fooled by this clown

I worked in the booking office in Mercy Medical for several years. I only dealt with Colantonio once which was more than enough. Everyone in the OR hated him. In fact he was barred from parking in the DR's parking lot due to his horrible disposition. I would not recommend him to anyone

Find a doctor who doesn't have Napoleon syndrome.

Would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy! Completely butchered liposuction that left unnecessary scars, lumps, indents, and scar tissue. When i went back to ask for a revision he sent me to his practice partner )who he is no longer with) who tried his best to repair his mistakes.

dr colantonio is not only an excellent surgeon, he's also a huge supporter of patient advocacy (family members present)during hospital stays and goes the extra mile to communicate with, not only the patient, but the family members as well, to help ensure propper before and after care when surgery is needed ! we highly reccommend this doctor as anyone under his care is a lucky recipient of his expertise, courtesy as well as wonderful follow-up care ! a grateful patient, her family, as well as the advocate.......me :)
