Dr. Anthony Thomas Corcoran, MD

I was recently a patient of Dr. Corcoran. I had a robotic left partial nephrectomy. I have been a scrub nurse in the OR for 24+ years and have worked with many different surgeons. Working in this field you know who the best surgeons are. After meeting with Dr. Corcoran and discussing the situation I knew he was the right surgeon for me. Everything went as planned without complications. I would highly recommend Dr. Corcoran.

Thought he was a great doctor, however found out he really isn't interested in patients as a person, only ones who he can operate on. Very disappointed in learning he won't see you when your orig surgeon is no longer able to see you and do aftercare, if he cared about patients he would see all patients who need him.

He’s simply the best. Read all the positive reviews and be assured your in good hands. Our experience was bladder ca for my 73 yo wife. The outcome was great

Dr. Corcoran saved my kidneys by taking out a 10 cm tumor on one kidney and a 3 cm tumor on another. All robotically. He really cares and he is really talented. THE BEST!

The lack of empathy and care from the staff is so unbelievable that you'll wonder why or how they got into the medical profession. One nurse kept cramming a catheter in as I told her she was putting me in incredible pain. She blamed the issue on me drinking too much coffee. The thing is that I don't drink coffee. Another nurse left a balloon full of chemotherapy drugs in my bladder that had to be popped with mineral oil. The office manager is rude beyond belief and gets annoyed when you ask her to explain things beyond saying 'yes' or 'no'. You would never believe these people are taking care of people in a life or death situation. Avoid this office if you want your cancer treatment to be free of stress and aggravation.

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to help others who will unfortunately experience a cancer diagnosis like I did last month. Mine was bladder cancer that turned my life upside down. Needless to say, you emotions get the best of you & can't help thinking the worst is going to happen. That was all put to rest after my first appointment with Dr. Corcoran. Let me backup by saying we decided to change Urologists, after our original recommended Doctor turned out to have absolutely no bedside manners & had the personality of a dial tone. Thanks to the amount of information you can find on Doctors through the internet, Dr. Corcoran became the logical choice. Researching his qualifications & experience, reading patient reviews & knowing his practice was affiliated with a well respected hospital like Winthrop, it became a no brainer to put my life in Dr. Corcoran hands. During my first visit he made me feel at ease, was very thorough with explaining bladder cancer & the next… steps that need to be taken. He reassured me it was treatable & let me know bladder cancer is very common with men over 50.....misery loves company! Dr. Corcoran scheduled my surgery exactly 1-week s after my 1st appointment. The office staff couldn't have been better in arranging the necessary pre-operation tests & admissions. Right before surgery, his words of encouragement made me feel confident everything will turnout okay. The surgery was a success & I'm now going through preventative chemo treatments at Dr. Corcoran's office. Can't thank enough Dr. Corcoran, his office staff & the staff at Winthrop for all their professional help & support during this difficult time of my life...God Bless!

My husband was discharged yesterday after an overnight stay..I am commenting from the perspective of the pt’s wife and a RN of over 45 yrs. We were lucky to be referred to Dr. Corcoran after receiving a dx of prostate cancer..All of our options were patiently explained by Dr. Corcoran..He chose robotic surgical removal..The office staff could not have been better in helping us make all the arrangements for testing and admission To Winthrop..The surgery went beautifully and he is now cancer-free..He has been walking and eating and has an expected amt of discomfort that has been kept under control by Motrin..His urine is clear and his spirits are great..I felt very confident when I heard the nurses tell me how terrific a surgeon he is.. and then I saw it for myself..We are so grateful!

With a recent cancer diagnosis, I was very nervous. Dr. Corcoran clarified many of my fears and concerns and reassured me this was treatable. After a successful surgery, I am doing well and am cancer free. Can't thank him enough.

This doctor made me feel so comfortable before my surgery. I never thought i could have this much confidence in someone who was going to do a major operation on me. I would recommend him to anyone with a serious condition

I went to Dr. Corcoran for bladder discomfort. A urine sample was taken but a follow-up visit to the receptionists and a phone call confirmed that the sample was never sent out for testing. I followed up with another doctor and was diagnosed with an infection necessitating an antibiotic.The office staff is very pleasant and appointment wait is short.
