Dr. Anthony Michael Deep, MD

Dr. Anthony Deep used to be my primary care physician, treating me for about two years. I am on a regular fixed income, and it's my habit to dress comfortably in shorts and tee shirt, and often have a full beard. Since I don't carry a wallet, as my shorts don't have appropriate pockets, I carry a backpack that functions as a man-purse. I look like a homeless guy, but I'm not. I don't have a drug habit, yet this doctor judged me, not from my patient history, but by appearance, and every single time that I had a scheduled visit with him, he'd say, "You DO know that crack is the worst thing you can do, right?" Every visit he'd insult and denigrate me this way. On my last visit, I'd had enough. I snarled, "Look, mister, I'm sick and tired of this treatment. I don't even know what crack LOOKS like! You're fired!" I called my HMO and told them that I wanted a different doctor, at a different practice, and why. I have been served for six years now by a doctor that has ALWAYS treated me with… the utmost professional courtesy, and has NEVER judged me by my appearance. I cannot help but wonder how many other patients Dr. Deep has mistreated in this rude, prejudiced, and unprofessional manner. Politeness and respect goes a long way, and it costs nothing.

I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment and then waited 1 hour 20 minutes passed my appointment time before seeing the doctor. Remember you only get 2 hours free validated parking. The staff seemed very uninvolved, uninterested, and displayed a lack of compassion. I finally got about 7 minutes with Dr. Deep and he was ok. I did not feel completely rushed by him and felt like he was pretty thorough. I may return simply because of inconvenience of going to an entirely new doctor but I would not recommend this clinic.
