Dr. Anthony Douglas

I have never before posted ANY review about any product, service, or provider. That said, I had been a patient of Dr. Douglas for over ten years. Since I was in good health, my interactions with him had primarily been for annual physicals. This month, I e-mailed him, recapping some minor questions from the last couple of years, and asking for a referral to a cardiologist. Here was his response (quote): << 9:35 AM – Response from Douglas Not sure I appreciate the tone of your email but in any case, you can choose a cardiologist of your choice and a new primary care doctor. I will care for you for 30 days for emergencies. We will transfer your records upon receipt of a signed consent. Anthony Douglas, MD There you go - an arrogant, flippant, dismissive response, totally uncalled for. I was completely shocked by his reply. Not exactly a supportive, helpful, caring stance. So, in retrospect, I probably should have changed primary physicians years ago, as he's always displayed a… condescending, “I'm the smartest guy in the room” attitude. So it goes.

Dr. Douglas and his staff has shown to be an exemplary example of human service professionals. I have been seeing Dr. Douglas since about 2005 and he has always treated me with respect, he listens and response with caring attitude. Very knowledgeable. The culture of the office with Dr. Douglas, nurse Kelly and his front office staff empowers patients to fell supported and cared about. Dr. Douglas takes care of patients, a good doctor is hard to find. I found one for keeps.

One if the staff members told me to go to urgent care and the dr Douglas would not see me because i was one minutes late after I explained to them that I was a law enforcement officer and I had unexpected time delays. Is this truly fair ....... Very disappointed

I have been with Dr Douglas for many years and the staff is pretty stable too.Never have to wait more than 5 min to get into the room or to see MD once you are in the room. Never had a problem getting app'ts especially for urgent causes.

Well run office, pleasant and accommodating staff, bright young doctor with great local reputation.

I have been with Dr Douglas for 10 yrs now and would never consider changing physicians. The staff is considerate, the wait times short and Dr Douglas is thorough,very involved,good follow up on your issues and he listens when you talk!!!!

Dr. Douglas is one of the better doctors out there. He is caring and thorough. He communicates well and explains clearly his diagnoses and plan of care. He does a great job of listening and including your input into the care he recommends. The members of his office staff are very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend him without reservation.

If your a fire fighter or in law enforcement stay away. I risk my life everyday and have an unpredictable schedule. If you have to change appointment times or literally 5 minutes late. They won't take you no matter how important your medical issue is.

My son had Influenza A and I was asked by the State department to immediately check for any spread of influenza a on me and my wife . The doctors managers or rep are very short tempered and have no mannerism to treat some one on pain.

Not sure what last patient rating meant by "homeopathic" school. Comments seemed sort of discriminatory against the Adventist system. I'm from Philadelphia and Drexel University is a well known school. Hahnemann University was a "homeopathic" school in the early 1800's in Philadelphia. This doctor's staff was helpful and empathetic. Doctor was on time with a great bedside manner. He listened and made me feel at ease. Don't trust the ratings, though. See for yourself.
