Compassionate. Great bed-sdie manners. Does not hurry exam and always stop and talk about your health and any treatments. As a senior citizen, I cant ask for more from a doctor. He also is sensitive to health care costs.

My recent visit to Dr. Popek involved an unexpected ear problem. I had recently gone scuba diving and my ears were not happy about it! After examining my ears, Dr. Peopek was quick to note that he doesn't typically see ears this bad in adults. I was treated immediately, and prescribed additional medication to get the issue under control. He said to call him (first thing in the morning) if my symptoms had not improved by at least 50%. Well, the next morning, I made the call. This was definitely a serious issue and he didn't waste any time finding a specialist that could help further diagnose the problem. He managed to get me in to see an ENT that same afternoon. Later that evening, (after hours) he called me personally to ask how I was doing, and made sure I had been taken care of. I am sharing my experience here, because not many doctors take the time to follow through with their patients, especially at this level. Dr Popek is a caring and thorough physician. He knows his patients well and is always concerned with their overall well-being as well as their health. He's always ready to listen and always up on whatever new medical procedures, practices, medications etc are available.

Dr. Popek is amazing. Incredibly smart, a real gentleman, great bedside manner, good sense of humor, and he seems to know a lot about pretty much everything. He's definitely a well-learned man and has tons of experience and wisdom. I am blessed to have found him as my primary care doctor.

I have been going to Dr. Popek for about 9 years now and I really like him. He does a great job and I will continue to go to him.

Dr. Popek is not only an extremely caring family physician, he's totally detailed and informed on all phases of your health and if need be, will direct you to a specialist if he feels you need it. He returns phone calls even late after hours. My husband and I have been his patients for about 12 years and our only concern is that he works too hard and too long of hours.

Dr. Popek is one of those rare family physicians that truly care and listen to his patient's concerns. He stays on top of the latest medical info including supplements as well as medications for his patients. He's been our family Dr for 10 years and we just hope and pray he stays healthy and continues to see patients. He was able to find a problem with my husband's prostate and after directing us to our urologist and then to Texas Oncology.... and after 1 year my husband is cancer free. Thank you Dr. Popek

but why is it that Every Time I have an appointment with Dr. Popek, I am kept waiting a Minimum of one hour, even when the appointment is scheduled well in advance for first thing in the morning?Today is not the first time I've walked out of Dr. Popek's office after waiting more than an hour. I come to his office On Time and can understand when a doctor has an emergency situation that must take priority of mine...still, someone should come in and give me an idea that there is going to be a very long wait. This has happened on more than three occasions. Maybe he doesn't really want to care for me. My time is AS IMPORTANT as his time. In addition, when he is in the room, he always makes cynical comments about the health care system, derogatory comments about the current (Democratic) president and members of Congress, and btw, never asks my opinion since he obviously doesn't care what my opinion is anyway. Politics may effect him and his practice, but it doesn't belong in the… examination room. He's not preaching to the choir and it's extremely uncomfortable listening to that sort of dissertation while I'm just trying to get a little health care.

Dr. Popek is an excellent physician who cares, and takes the time to ask questions. Highly recommend Dr. Popek.
