I had been seeing Dr. Stavola for over 25 years and stopped last year.(2013). The old dogs not what he used to be. He used to spend time with his patients and over the years he's let Carilion push him to move faster from room to room and now you hardly have a chance to discuss what's wrong with yourself. It's only gotten worse. I left though because of the staff working the office. It's been happening for years but last year was it. My insurance changed and I needed them to make a new referral to one of my specialist. Of course insurance won't cover it if your primary doesn't refer you. I called Stavola's office up Two MONTHS in advance and to have them make the referral. I knew I should have checked back with the specialist to make sure it had been done knowing how Stavola's office is, because sure enough two months later I drove an hour away to this appointment to find out they had never made the referral. And of course while at the Dr.'s office that morning on my cell phone, I call… over to Stavola's office and they tell me "oh that girl is off today and no one can do a referral for you today, call back tomorrow". You've been warned. These are the type of people you'll deal with. A rushed Dr. and people in an office who don't care about your time and money.
