Dr. Anthony Stein, MD

Dr. Stein has saved my life twice. He is an excellent practitioner. I have known him for over 22 years since my diagnosis of AML in 1994. I follow up with him yearly and he found the right protocol to follow.

Was not realistic about prognosis, concurrent illness, and side effects of medication prescribed. Did not show personal interest or communication during hospitalization with critical illness two weeks after visit. Lacked follow up; deferred to other staff.

How can a doctor constantly lie to a patient and their family about what is to come. How can he keep selling promises about being admitted the "next day" just wait for a call and when we call he says oh we havent gotten word yet we are rescheduling admittance to tomorrow just wait again for a call,. And this goes for weeks and weeks and then wouldnt you know he ends up saying no we dont have the tests we need. Well its not like we waited months where you could have ordered the tests. Not to mention you can tell a doctor is lying when he stutters for the first 15 seconds of meeting with you when he cant figure out what he is going to make up this time. We thought getting recommended to City of Hope would be a positive thing, but it ended up being a giant waste of time thanks in majority part to this Dr. Stein

I received a bone marrow transplant from Dr. Stein over 12 years ago for CML. He was an answer to our prayers in what was our darkest and most scary experience in life. He always answered our questions with gentleness and honesty. He faithfully returns phone calls before he leaves for the day. He is personable and showed a deep & genuine care not only for me but my husband and children as well. He laughed with us, cried with us and celebrated life with us after successful treatment. There are not enough kind things that I can say about Dr. Stein. He is one of a kind and I feel amazingly blessed to have had him as my doctor.
