Dr. Anthony Hallock Wheeler, MD

If I could give zero stars I would. Dr. Wheeler left me with less hope than I arrived with. I have been suffering for years with a history of seizures, facial numbness and tingling (trigeminal neuralgia) ,unbearable pain in my arms and shoulders, numbness in my legs, my feet stay a purple color, loss of control over bowels. I was referred to him for a multiple sclerosis diagnosis confirmation. He proceeded to tell me I would benefit most from psychiatric therapy, read a book, and get some exercise. After he rudely told me he is out of resources considering I am self pay. There is no further testing to do. Completely disappointed, left with nothing but a $125.00 less in my purse and a broken spirit. He either needs a different profession or it’s time to retire.

Spent 10 years in severe suffering, first trying all conservative treatments, multiple surgeries, traction, nothing helped. Doctors ran me through same procedures almost 10 years. I learned about Dr. Wheeler from a friend (Wheeler saved his life). My first visit was almost three hours; nobody spent that kind if time with me. I received a pain block injection on my second appointment. Staff clearly pointed out everything that could go wrong. I got a local antiseptic, and 10 minutes later the pain block injection. In 10 minutes, I moved from 10 years of suffering to almost no pain. A miracle-I could not believe it! A triumph of science-based medicine. Thank you, Doctor Wheeler.

I spent many days waiting for Dr. Wheeler. BUT, I knew how much extra time he gave me, when I needed it. I did not begrudge waiting at all. I knew someone else was receiving what they needed. I had nerve damage and surgeries. Dr. Wheeler tried many things to help me control the pain. Some worked well, some not so much. It is a hit and miss thing. We worked on this and found Botox worked the best for me. Dr.Wheeler was always patient, kind, and compassionate. I hate he left Charlotte.

My husband was scheduled for a 1:00 appointment with Dr. Wheeler. We were her 30 min before the appointment as instructed. We were his first appointment after lunch. At 1:25 I went to the front desk to see how much longer our wait was going to be. The staff had no idea. They looked at each and just shrugged. Neither one said anything to me so I continued to stand there waiting. I heard one say “they need to get their act together back there”. My husband got up and asked what the problem was and if he was going to be seen and they still just looked at each other, made comments about how they weren’t sure if he was back from lunch, yet, it is now 1:45, and how she hasn’t seen Dr. Wheeler to which my husband replies, “you opened the door for him, he walked right past me!” They said the office manager was going to check and see what was going on but she never bothered to come out and talk to us. We were finally called back around 1:55. As the nurse was taking down my husbands… vitals she said “they did tell you that you were seeing Dr Wang today, right?” No! No one told us we were seeing someone else. I told them I had made the appointment with Dr Wheeler and that’s who we expected to see. After about 15 minutes they moved us to another room and Dr Wheeler finally showed up. I would NOT recommend this place.

Dr. Evil needs to retire. Nastiest dr. I have ever seen.

He is the rudest DR. I've ever seen, I've had some major surgerys & left with the options to be in pain clinic the rest of my life & I ended up at Dr wheelers office, the worst mistake of my life by going there! The staff is so rude & and so is Dr wheeler and the most uncaring group, he has not talked at all about of x-rays trying to pinpoint my problems or area to hear much of my issues he makes feel like it's just about the$$$, and don't really care of my pain issue , and I get sent home till the next months appt!!!. Thank you Mr wheeler for CAREING!!!!!!!????

was referred by my primary dr to Dr Wheeler. First visit gave me script for meds. which made me feel loopy and didn't really help. Second visit I told them I cant take them and need surgery or something. He referred me to another Neurologist and I was so glad. After 2 Nerve Block injections I am soooo much improved..not completely gone but so much improved. I don't feel Wheeler was very attentive to my needs he seemed either bored with his job or was having a bad day the 2 days I saw him..he would Not be a first neuro Id recommend...

Every time I had an appointment the nurse always made an issue of my appointment or getting my prescriptions

I went through physical therapy. Could barely walk without shuffling. I have been able to control my aging problems with exercise.

Dr.Where was the WORST experience of my life. He insulted me and wasn't a person I would ever want to be as my Doctor. Something bad is wrong with the entire facility. The ladies at the front desk were Super nice and compassionate. But Dr Wheeler and his black nurse UNPROFESSIONAL. Disgusting appointment, I felt so hurt when I left.
